Why do we try making our characters perfect when nobody's perfect?
Writers often rely on perfection to create a love story. They create a character so perfect, thinking readers will have no choice but to love them, therefore, loving the book. Honestly its kind of a cheap trick to try and pull. It can feel like a cop out.
Allow character to be flawed. They should make mistakes. Realistic and lively characters make a good book. The readers can understand and relate to them.
