Chapter 3

There were some weird glances when the group that had left as four came back with five. All eyes turned to the tall boy next to Jungkook, probably wondering how Natsu had managed to recruit a second Fairy Tail member on the same day as recruiting Jungkook.

Jungkook couldn't say he wasn't annoyed by it.

"Oi, Flame Head, where did you find this one?" a man Jungkook remembered to be called Gray asked Natsu with a raised eyebrow.

"Turned out the demon wasn't a demon after all!" Natsu exclaimed with a grin. "This is Taehyung, he's really cool! He's got this amazing shadow magic!"

"Shadow magic?" Gray wondered curiously, turning to Taehyung. "What's that like?"

Taehyung's eyes turned big and he gulped. Jungkook looked at him and watched as the boy stayed silent and didn't answer Gray's question.

"Taehyung, is something wrong?" he asked softly, noticing Taehyung looked scared rather than shy.

"N-No, I'm just...not used to so many people." Taehyung replied, gulping again. He turned to Gray and put a small smile on his face.

"Uhm...my magic isn't shadow magic...it's called dark angel magic..." he said. Jungkook saw he was holding his fingers crossed, but luckily no one else noticed. Was he hoping for a good reaction?

"Sounds badass." Gray grinned, patting him on the back. "Welcome to the guild, kiddo. How old are you?"

"Sixteen." Taehyung said.

Lucy, who had still been standing next to the two new boys – whereas Natsu had already darted around the room and found someone to annoy – gasped softly. "You're younger than I had thought..." she mumbled.

"And older than I had thought." Jungkook chuckled. "You're older than I am. I'm fourteen."

"Ah, really?" Taehyung said, chuckling slightly. Jungkook liked it when the boy smiled, it looked better on him than angry or scared looks. Way better.

"So...why did people think you're a demon?" a woman Jungkook remembered to be called Cana asked from the bar. Multiple eyes turned to Taehyung once again and the boy looked slightly panicked. He obviously didn't want everyone to know about his story. Jungkook didn't even know the full story, all he knew was what the mayor of Onibus had told them.

"It's just because of his cool magic." Natsu yelled from across the guild. "He's scary when he turns into fighting mode!"

"Ahh, just like Mirajane when she uses her magic." Gray said, nodding understandingly.

The conversation luckily turned to Mira and her badass magic, so Jungkook found the opportunity to grab Taehyung's arm and drag him towards the bar, where only Cana was sitting. It was less crowded there, so he figured it would be nicer for Taehyung.

The two of them sat down on the high bar stools and Mira gave the two of them some banana milk.

"What...is this?" Taehyung asked, looking at the glass in his hand rather hesitantly. "Why is it yellow?"

"That's banana milk. Have you never had it before?" Jungkook asked with his curious doe eyes.

Taehyung shook his head and then carefully took a sip from his glass, eyes widening in surprise. "This is really good!"

Jungkook grinned. "I know, right?"

Jungkook then thought of something. He frowned and tilted his head questioningly, looking at Taehyung. "How exactly did you get food? You were living in the forest, weren't you?"
