Chapter 19 - Goodbye

It's not long until Sierra & the Karimloo's arrive at the airport.

They all get out of the car. Ramin & the boys help Mandy to unload & gather her bags, whilst Sierra gets Saffron out of her car seat.

When they are inside the airport by the departures board, they have to start saying goodbye.

Sierra goes up to Mandy, accompanied by Saffron. Mandy takes Saffron's little hand.

"Now then you," she starts to say. "Be good for you're Mama & Uncle Ramin! You're so so precious..."

Mandy starts to tear up. She kisses Saffron's hand & Saffron squeals, before Sierra hands her to Ramin so she can say a proper goodbye to Mandy.

Both women hold their arms out to each other & embrace.

"Look after yourself, " Sierra tells Mandy.

"You too," Mandy replies. "And look after them."

They break from their hug before Mandy continues, "Ramin deserves to have you in his life. I know that you make him happy & the boys love you too. Please stay with him."

"But what about you?" a concerned Sierra asks.

"Oh don't worry about me," Mandy reassures her friend. "I'll always have you lot! FaceTime me everyday - & that is an order! Honestly, I'll be fine. I just want you, Ramin & the kids to be happy."

"And we want you to be happy," says Sierra, giving Mandy one final hug. "Safe travels."

Sierra steps back & Jaiden & Hadley go up to their Mum & hug her.

"Now then you two," she says, kneeling down to them. "Mummy loves you both very, very much. Although I'm going to be living & working on the other side of the world, you will always be in my heart. I want to hear from you everyday, okay?"

She starts to cry now, so pulls them in closer.

"We will miss you, Mummy!" both boys say together.

"I will miss you too, so so much. Promise me you'll be good for Daddy & Sierra."

"We promise...."

Ramin gives Saffron back to Sierra, before going over to Mandy & the boys. He wraps his arms around them & the family remain like this for a few moments.

"I love you all, you've got to remember that" Mandy tells them.

"And you remember that we'll always be here if you decide you don't like it or need to come back," Ramin reminds her.

Jaiden & Hadley step back so that their parents can have a last moment.

"You are amazing, Mandy Karimloo! You've worked you're butt off for this & now you're going to be living you're dream. I'm so proud of you."

And with that, Ramin & Mandy kiss & embrace for the final time.

As this is happening, over the tanoy it's announced that Mandy's flight will be leaving in 10 minutes.

So, Sierra & Saffron, Ramin, Jaiden & Hadley accompany Mandy to her aeroplane before one last big group hug.

"I'll miss you all!" she tells them.

"We'll miss you too!" they say in unison.

They break from the hug & Mandy gets on the plane, turning back to wave at them every second.

She gets on the plane as Ramin, the boys, Sierra & Saffron watch on.

In a few moments, the aeroplane sets off down the runway, before heading off into the sky.

The five of them on the ground wave until the plane is too high to be seen.

"I hope she'll be okay," a worried Sierra says.

"Hey," Ramin reassures her, putting his arm around her. "She's Mandy Karimloo. Of course she'll be okay."

And with that, Ramin, Sierra & the children walk out of the airport & back to the car.

As they do so, Jaiden asks his father, "Can we speak to Mum everyday?"

"Of course! I'm sure she'll let us know when she's got there. We could even go on vacation over there, if you want, so we can see her." Ramin tells them.

"Can we go now?" Hadley asks, excitedly.

Ramin & Sierra laugh.

"Haha, we'll have to save up for that first, buddy. But I promise we will go one day." Ramin reassures them.

When they get back to the car, Ramin helps the boys to get in whilst Sierra puts Saffron safely into her car seat. Then Ramin gets into the drivers seat & Sierra sits next to him.

They haven't been on the road long when all three children fall asleep.

"Poor things, they're exhausted!" Sierra says, turning to look at them all sleeping. "Mind you, so are we haha! Are you okay, Ramin?" She notices he's been pretty quiet since they set off.

"Yeah, I'm just thinking," he tells her.

"About what?" she asks him.

"I promised Mandy that I would carry on with my life & raise the boys. But I can't do it on my own, especially not if I'm working and/or touring. So I was wondering, would you help me, Sierra? You & Saffron can stay in our spare room. I know then we'll have three kids, but at least I won't be on my own..... I don't want to be on my own..." He trails off, starting to sob. Luckily, the traffic has come to a stop.

"Oh Ramin," Sierra reaches over to him & holds him. "Of course I will help you," she says, looking into his eyes. "I love being with you & the boys. And Saffron & I would love to stay with you," she tells him, smiling.

"Thank you," he says. Just as they are about to pull in for a kiss, the traffic starts moving again, so Ramin carries on driving.

But for the rest of the journey, Sierra rests & rubs her hand on Ramin's thigh. When he can, he holds & strokes it.

They are reassuring each other that everything is going to be okay.......
