1. What is the title of your story?
A. When It Rains.
2. What is the genre of the story?
A. Fantasy/Romance.
3. Can you give us the summary to this story?
A. All River ever knew was her forest home. When a mysterious man comes along claiming to be the element's new guardian, she has hopes he'll take her to the human world, a place filled with mystery and intrigue for her. But things aren't exactly as they seem inside her forest or outside, in the world of humans. Dragged there and separated from her family, the only person she has left to turn to is the very same one who betrayed her.
Between trying to survive this terrifying new world and the people targeting her for their own nefarious reasons, she attempts to understand the visions she's plagued with about a woman called Constantine with a tragic past and what they might mean for her present.
When her life is nothing but a lie, how can she undercover the truth behind not only her existence, but the elements as well?4. What gave you inspiration and ideas for your story?
A. I was reading a book (Infinity: Chronicles of Nick) when I thought that it would be fun to write a story about ancient deities myself. River just sort of formed from that thought and I took it off in a direction all my own.
5. Why do you think that your story is good for people to read?
A. When It Rains has a bit of everything; Fantasy, adventure, action, romance, humour, the whole nine. I'm not saying that it would appeal to everyone - nothing appeals to everyone - but it does contain a lot of different things that reach out to people. And River has a unique personality all her own, one that paints her as more human that human and also depicts the various facets of her personality.
6. What helps you to stay motivated when writing your story?
A. Music really helps, and talking to my characters and really getting to know them as people. Because my stories are character based rather than focusing on outside forces, it's necessary. I spend a lot of time visualizing scenes as well. Being able to see them helps me push forward to where I get there. As long as I can see it, then I can get it on paper. And comments really help as well, I love feedback. I don't have to have it to keep myself writing, but it certainly pushes me to write.
7. How do you feel when a bad comment is posted on your story? Anything to say to those haters?
A. It's a little discouraging, but I understand that no story appeals to everyone. There's really nothing to say to people who don't like it other than just don't read it. There's no need to bash something just because you don't like it, the best thing to do (Unless someone asks for critique or advice) is to just turn away and not leave nasty comments.
8. Lastly, anything to say to those who read your story?
A. Just that I hope they enjoy it!
