Adopted by McQueen (humanized) Book 2

Chapter 1

McQueen, Chloe, and Mack were on their way to Radiator Springs after they finished the racing season. Chloe was looking out the window watching as everything went by.

"So Little Thunder.....how do you like Sally?" McQueen asked.

"I love her!" She replied turning to him, "she's super pretty and nice! She's like a mother!"

"A mother?" McQueen questioned.

"I may have been an infant when my parents died but I still remember what a mother's love feels like." She explained.

"I guess you're right." He replied.

"Why do you ask?" Chloe asked.

"Oh no reason. I just didn't know how you felt about her." McQueen shrugged, "you'll be hanging out with her and Flo while I hang out with Mater."

"Well what are you and Mater going to be doing?" Chloe asked.

"Stupid stuff." He chuckled.

Chloe laughed, "such as?"

"I don't know what Mater has planned." McQueen shrugged.

"Boys do very stupid things. Just remember that." Mack told Chloe.

"Like I'm ever going to have a relationship with a boy." Chloe rolled her eyes.

"Oh you will one day. You'll have goo goo eyes for him." McQueen joked.

Chloe chuckled as she gently punched McQueen, "gross dad."

"We're here!" Mack said.

They parked and hopped out of the truck. Chloe's legs were wobbling around. McQueen laughed at her.

"Your legs fall asleep?"

"Yep." Chloe answered.

"Hey look McQueen's back!" Ramone announced.

Everyone rushed out of where they were hiding so they could see their beloved friends.

"Stickers!" Sally smiled.

She hugged McQueen and Chloe walked over to Flo.

"Hey sugar how ya been?" Flo asked.

"Good." Chloe answered, "I have a break from loud car engines."

Flo laughed and hugged her tightly.

"Where's Mater?" McQueen asked.

"He's towing-"

"MCQUEEN!!!" Screamed Mater as he parked his tow truck.

He had Ottis' car and Ottis was sitting in the truck. Mater ran to McQueen and they did their secret handshake.

"Welcome home buddy!" He smiled.

"It's good to see you Mater!" McQueen replied.

"I got so much planned for us." Mater said.

"Well I got something to show you first." McQueen replied.

~time skip~

Lightning showed Mater his newest Piston Cup that was dedicated to Doc Hudson.

"Wow I can't believe they renamed the Piston Cup after our very own Doc Hudson." Mater smiled.

"I know Doc said these things were just old cups, but to have someone else win just didn't feel right ya know?"

"Well Doc woulda been real proud of ya, that's for sure." Mater said with a sad smile.

Doc was in his bed, very weak and moments away from leaving the world. Sally, McQueen, and Chloe were with him.

"Take care of the town, Lightning." Doc smiled at McQueen.

McQueen smiled with tears in his eyes, "I will."

Chloe stepped closer to Doc and held his cold hands. Doc gently rubbed her cheek.

"You're going to do great things, Chloe. And don't let Rookie do anything stupid." He smirked weakly.

Chloe giggled as she wiped her tears. She hugged him gently.

"I love you, Grandpa."

Doc hugged her back, "I love you too, Chloe."

She then felt his body go limp. She slowly pulled away and saw that Doc had taken his final breath. Chloe broke down into a river of tears. McQueen picked her up and hugged her tightly. Sally joined in on the hug as they had lost a legendary racer and friend.
