Tyki was dressed standing on the deck. He had Allen cleaned up in chains at his side. Having refused his father’s request to leave the boy behind. The well dressed pirate had assured the Earl that he would find their missing magician and bring him home, only if he got to keep the white haired boy. As always the Earl gave in to his youngest son.
Now Lavi was standing with them. Tyki had elected him to be part of his body guards. The gangly teen wasn’t sure why. He was greatful to be near the boy. Allen couldn’t even stand up properly. Those beautiful eyes were dull with pain. Kanda was going to kill them all. Silently Lavi hoped they could find him. His hand caressed the sword at his side. Without it the magician was nearly useless.
Mugen was the source of Kanda’s power. He could still weld magic without the sword but it was at a high cost to him physically. The sword fed his magical strength. Lavi knew that once it was back in it’s owners hands there would be no stopping the dark haired demon. The night nearly three years ago still haunted the one eyed pirate. It had been the only time Lavi had seen Kanda lose control. The emerald eyed teen wasn’t looking forward to seeing it again.
Tyki was talking to someone abut getting a carriage ride into town. The pirate took that moment to get next to Allen. Lavi bent down to fix his boot. “Stay strong. One way or another this will end today.” Allen blinked stupidly at him.
“They will kill me.” His voice rasped out. “Why hasn’t Kanda returned?” His sliver orbs searched the face beneath him. Lavi sighed.
“He will, don’t worry.” Lavi used Allen to pull himself upright, or so it looked to others. In reality he slipped a dagger into the boys sleeve. Allen’s eyes brightened.
They walked down onto shore. A carriage large enough for six men pulled up. Tyki climbed inside dragging Allen behind him. Lavi helped as best he could to get the boy inside without too much pain. The red haired teen jumped up next. Two others from the crew of the ship joined them. They were the Earl’s men, sent to keep an eye on Tyki Mikk.
The ride was uneventful. Lavi winced ever time they hit a root, rut or anything else that made the carriage shake or jolt. Each time Allen moaned in pain. The fingerless gloved hands were balled together. How he wished to strike out at Tyki. Lavi knew it would do no good. The Noah had some sort of power all to themselves. Each one possesed abilities from the other world. Tyki could phase through anything, making it difficult to hurt him. The green eye narrowed. He hoped Kanda was using his time to figure out a way to kill the ungodly creature.
It wasn’t too difficult to find the auction house once they got into town. Nearly everyone in town had gone there making it packed with carriages. Tyki painfully pulled Allen from their carriage. The boy fell to his knees as he hit the ground. Lavi had to scramble to help him to his feet before Tyki dragged him down the street.
“Taking a liking to the boy are you?” The purr of Tyki’s voice grated on Lavi’s nerves. Lavi turned to him. With a quirk of his lips he snorted at the yellow eyed man.
“Not really.” He forced himself to sound unconcerned. “Just thinking about what the magician will do if he is returned damaged.” Lavi raised on eyebrow watching as Tyki turned away.
“You can wonder all you want, we both know there is nothing that thing can do to hurt me.” He laughed as he pulled Allen down the street. “Why my father gave into him I do not know. He will not get this boy back. I will kill it first.” He snarled at Allen.
There was laughter from the other two that walked behind the pair. They knew how Tyki liked to make a show of killing his slaves when he was done with them. Nearly everyone on the boat came to see just how the golden eyed man would kill his latest victim. He was heartless and cruel.
Lavi looked at Allen. He was bent over even more. His left arm was hanging lower than his right. If the teen had to guess the boy was trying to protect his side. Who knew what Tyki had done to him. As he watched the boy, he noted how Allen struggled to even breath. ‘Oh Kanda you have got to be here.’ The pirate prayed to his friend.
They followed the crowd into a large barn. There were many levels of seating. Tyki strolled through the crowd not looking at anyone. The crowd parted for the well dressed man. Lavi hurried to keep up. Once they had reached the front they saw rows of more seating. These circled the stage.
Tyki lead them right up to the front row. He forced Allen to his knees in the dirt beside the chairs. “Sit, sit.” He ushered the others into the row. Lavi was far away from the white haired boy. Allen had whimpered slightly as he settled into the dirt. A man came out wearing a bright pink coat he waved to the crowd. A large microphone was held up to him.
“Welcome, welcome Oh do we have a show for you tonight my friends.” The man cried out over the crowed. Lavi’s attention was pulled away from the ring. He saw movement to the right of it. Several small boys were lead out onto the stage. They couldn’t be more than six.  They were chained together.  The announcer rattled off lie after lie about the boys. One by one they were bid on and sold to the crowd.
The next group were a bit older, still not teenagers. Lavi’s teeth ground together at how they were treated. His fists balled in his lap as one by one people yelled out to see different parts of them. At one point someone asked to see ones genitals. This got a laugh from the crowd, but the man manning the chain yanked the boys pants down anyway.
Then came the older kids. Boys and a few girls still in early teen years. Lavi wanted to scream as men became eager to see three girls paraded up on the stage. The oldest couldn’t be more than Allen. Lavi glanced down to check on the boy. His head was down. His small fists balled up as Lavi’s were. As if he knew the pirate was watching he lifted his head. Lavi saw the same disgust in those eyes as he felt.
Soon this group was done. Older teenagers came out. Lavi recognized many of them from the ship. Daisya and Krory were among them. Watching as the slaves were sold off, the red head made note of who bought his friends. He would get them back.
For now he became hopeful maybe Kanda was with them. All he had to do was get the sword into the dark man’s hands. Reaching down he unclasped the strap holding it to his side. After these were taken back there was a huge commotion.
“Now for the treat you were all promised. This one will need a strong hand. He is a fighter by nature.” To Lavi’s utter horror Kanda was lead out. His hands bound before him in chains. They were yanked tight in an x formation over his chest. His legs were cuffed together. A helmet of sorts was over his head, a metal gag in his mouth. Those eyes held fire though. They searched the crowd. But he was looking to far back.
Lavi shifted slightly. How was he going to get the sword to the magician. With one hand he began to pull it upwards. The blade slowly coming free of the sheath. It was enough to catch the magician’s eye. They fell to the red haired teen. Those cold eyes didn’t stay long as Tyki called out the first bid, making it higher than what was asked.
Cobalt blue eyes locked with gold. The white head was raised looking hopefully up at his savor. Kanda shook the chains. He was screaming behind the gag. Lavi knew what he wanted. With a deep breath the pirate stood. He unsheathed Mugen. The glow of the sword lit up the dark room. The hands came up breaking the chain binding them.
With ever bit of strength he had Lavi threw the sword to it’s master. The helmet fell free of the dark head. The hilt landed into the demons hands. Lavi used his body to shield the pale boy kneeling in the dirt.
“Oh shit!” Tyki muttered seconds before blue lightening struck his body. They passed harmlessly through the man. All it managed to do was get him to drop the chain holding Allen. Lavi was the only one to know that was what the magician had wanted.
As fast as he could the teen pirate yanked the chain to him. He scooped the boy into his arms. Running with his head down, he raced toward the demonic man on stage. Lavi could hear running behind him, he just didn’t know if it was the people trying to get away or Tyki.
When Kanda launched himself into the air, Lavi ducked. The man landed behind him. There was a maniacal laugh. Lavi slid under the stage with Allen held tight to his chest.
“You cant hurt me magician. I am immortal!” the well dressed man cried out. There was no response from the other. Lavi turned to Allen.
“Let’s get you out of these chains.” Allen looked up at him doubtfully. “Tyki has the key.” His voice was emotionless.
“Yeah, but you have me.” Lavi grinned pulling the knife out that he had given the smaller boy. With deft skillfully fingers the pirate used the knife to expertly pick the lock. The chains fell away. Lavi looked at him the smile fading from his handsome face.
“There’s nothing I can do to heal you.” He stated sadly. Allen gave him a tiny smirk.
“Thank you for helping me. When I saw you with Kanda…” Lavi nodded. He understood what the other must have thought.
“I was the only one still free. Oh crap!” he slapped himself in the head.  Allen jumped smacking his head on the bottom of the stage.
“What?” he cried rubbing the sore spot.
“Daisya and Krory.” Lavi said. The two scurried out from under the stage. What greeted them had them standing stunned. The stage was the only thing that wasn’t destroyed. The blue white light of Mugen had slashed through walls, benches, beams anything solid. Tyki was still phasing through stuff to stay out of the angry magicians path.
“I have an idea.”  Allen whispered beside him. Lavi looked down at him. The white haired teen pointed to a pile of unevenly stacked boxes. The sword had cut through them showing the contents. Inside where several cases of dynamite sticks. Lavi's lips curved into a wicked grin
“If Kanda distracts him…” Allen began.
“How would you light it?” Lavi asked. Allen’s hopeful face fell. Lavi tapped his shoulder.
“We do the distracting. Kanda can light them.” He said. Allen gave a sharp nod. He looked over to the rampaging warrior.
“How do we tell him the plan?” he asked. Lavi looked at the destruction. Crossing his arms in front of his chest he tapped one finger against his chin. Allen waited.
After a few minutes the lanky teen snapped his fingers. “Alright, you get as many sticks as you can. Get them under the stage. Cut the wicks short. We don’t want Tyki to have a long fuse he would be able to get rid of it.” Allen nodded he could see where the other was going.
“I'm going to get the others. “ Lavi told him “We will meet you back here. Then we worry about Kanda. Maybe Daisya will have an idea.” Allen agreed. The two separated.
Allen hurried across the space trying to stay as small as possible. His chest and ribs hurt if he stayed to balled up. His back ached. Staying small was hard but then Allen wasn’t that big of a person.
Reaching the place where the TNT was Allen squeezed between the broken wall and boxes. He wiggled into the small space until one arm could reach into a box. Pulling as many sticks as he could out he tossed them into a clearing. He continued this until the box was empty.
Working his way back out his shoulder got snagged on a nail. He felt the pain as his skin tore. Sucking in the scream he pulled free. Gathering up his prize he hurried to the stage. Slipping back under he saw two black boots land before him. Biting his hand he kept himself from crying out. The blue white blade slashed the space above the boots, the stage shook. Kanda swore.
After watching Allen hurry toward the boxes of dynamite, Lavi slipped out the back side of the stage. He stayed hidden behind all the debris. Slipping into the back he could hear the shouts. Following the noise he found the cages where the slaves had been taken until their new owners could collect them.
“Lavi!” Hearing his name the boy turned. In the cell directly behind him was Daisya. Krory came to the cell door a few down from the small jester. He was on the opposite side.
“The female with the large purple skirt has the keys. We don’t know where she went.” Daisya told him.  Lavi grunted. He slipped the knife between the lock tumblers popping open the door to the cell. Moving along he freed all the slaves. Many just ran for the exit. Honestly the teen couldn’t blame them. A few stayed to thank the red head boy.
“How bad is it?” Daisya asked. Lavi smirked rubbing one hand behind his head.
“You remember Toneiy, right?” He asked speaking of the small town Kanda had annihilated three years ago. Daisya groaned.
“That good?” he asked a grin splitting his face. Lavi smirked back.
“Better.” The emerald eye vanished in the crinkle of his smile. The two high fived before gathering Krory and anyone willing to help them. Lavi told them the plan about meeting Allen under the stage.
“Uh the samurai just broke the stage.” A small boy said. He was looking out into the  main hall. The three didn’t hesitate. They ran. The others followed. Lavi sprinted back into the main area. Kanda was trying to hold up the stage with his magic while fending off Tyki with Mugen. Neither was working well.
“Krory grab the other end of this beam.” Lavi shouted. The bat like man leapt upwards. He kicked the beam free of the one holding it. Several of the other boys got in the middle. They rushed to shove it under the stage.  Allen slithered out. Lavi noted that he shoved two sticks of TNT in Kanda’s pockets.
“He knows.” The small boy said.
“Ok then. Let’s make a distraction.” Allen passed out the rest of the dynamite he had. Each boy ended up with three sticks. Lavi, Krory and Daisya each had four. Drawing a deep breath, Lavi lit two of his sticks from a torch he found in the back. Krory, the other boys and Allen did the same. Daisya would hang back to back up Kanda if he needed it. The other boys spread out around the area.
The sticks they had lit had the longest fuses. Allen had tied a few together. Making as much noise as they could they went out to try and get the torture’s attention. Screaming and waving the lit fuses, Tyki had no choice but to see what the commotion was.
Kanda leapt at him as soon as his back was turned, but the Noah had guessed that the attack would come from the  powerful magician. He spun punching the man in the chest. Kanda flew backwards, the dynamite falling from his hand.
Lavi had expected this to happen at least to someone. He had given the four smallest boys the task of getting water to throw onto any lit dynamite that didn’t hit Tyki. One of them rushed forward to douse the stick with water. He ran back to refill his bucket.
Looking around the one eyed boy couldn’t find the small white haired teen. He could only guess that the boy went to check on Kanda. He was partially right.
Kanda had managed to fling himself toward Allen. He wanted to protect the boy from the  blast. When it didn’t come the magician smirked. “Lavi is a master mind.” He coughed. The small boy tried to help him up. Kanda pushed himself away when he saw him wince. Touching his chest lightly he growled.
“What did he do to you?”
“It’s fine.” Allen lied. He winced more as Kanda pressed his hand lightly over his fragile body. The dark blue eyes closed. He whispered something Allen didn’t understand. A warm sensation started at Kanda’s hand. It spread out over the boys chest. It felt like warm little worms were wriggling under his skin. Wherever they went the pain eased. After about five minutes Kanda slummed.
“I didn’t expect them to be so badly damaged.” He gasped.  The light of Mugen was dimmer now. Allen caught his arm.
“You shouldn’t have done that. You’ve used up too much of your strength.” He cried. Kanda snorted.
“I can’t get close to that fool. He knows I am the best fighter amongst us.” Allen’s mouth curved into an ‘o’ of surprise.
“He wouldn’t think that of me.” He whispered.  Kanda glared at him.
“Do you think for one second I would let him get near you again.” He roared. Allen waved his hands in a shushing motion.
“Keep it down he will hear you.” The boy hissed. “Yes you need to let him get close to me.” That was when Allen told him his plan. Kanda smirked.
“I think you are as evil as he is. I like that.” The smile on the smaller boys face had no humor in it. They separated after Kanda gave the boy a few tips.
Stepping back out onto the field of battle, Kanda engaged Tyki once more. The sharp dressed man picked up on his weakened state instantly.
“Oh no are you reaching your limit mighty Kanda?” he teased. “Let’s see several nights without proper sleep. That little enchanted sleep you put yourself in didn’t help much.” He taunted.
“When was the last time you had anything to eat.” He tsked. “If you don’t keep up your bodies strength how ever will you beat me?” Tyki laughed manically. His body had phased to normal. Kanda swung Mugen at his head. The man phased out. He laughed again at Kanda’s feeble attempt to kill him. When he laughed he became solid.
“I wasn’t the one who killed you.” Kanda spat.
“Killed I’m not…” he was cut off as his body exploded over the room. Allen was crouched behind him. Lavi cheered. He ran up to the younger boy scooping him carefully into his arms.
“Woohoo you did it!” He shouted.
“How did you do it?” Daisya asked stunned.
“Well.” Allen grinned down at him from Lavi’s arms. “When he phased to not get killed by Mugen, I shoved the dynamite into his chest. I held it there until he drew a breath to laugh. When he laughed he couldn’t hold his breath to stay phased. The explosive was held inside him.” Those who hadn’t been in on the plan looked stunned at the simplicity of it. The others roared with laughter at how easily the cunning Tyki Mikk had been fooled.
Kanda fell to his knees. “Kanda” Lavi, Daisya and Allen cried. They ran to him.
“I’m fine. Just need some food, rest…” His voice trailed of as Lavi kissed him hard on the lips. Kanda returned the kiss, a bit slower than normal.
“You did well tonight, stupid rabbit.” Kanda smirked. Then his eyes fell to the boy behind the pirate.
“You, Allen Walker, your time isn’t up. We still have to open that key inside you. Only with that can we defeat the rest of the Noah’s.” Everyone turned to look at Allen.
“I think we need to get out of here first. I know of a place where we can heal. Then I will do everything I can to defeat them all!” Allen vowed.
“Spoken like a true member of the Black Order.” Lavi chuckled as he pulled his lover’s arm across his shoulders.” They walked away from the wreckage. Allen took them to an inn in the next town. He seemed to know the woman and her son that ran it. They greeted him with hugs food and warm beds for everyone. The woman dressed their wounds before letting them rest for the night. In the morning she would get their story.
