TTOR || 6. Pool and dates

** next morning **

"Hey bestie!!" Sadie yelled from my bedroom doorway.

"What?" I said groggily slipping more into my blanket. For several minutes I could not hear anything so I assumed she was gone but I realized I was wrong when I felt a huge weight on top of me. I struggled to push her off me but in the process I had managed to fall off the bed and and hit my head on the corner of my night stand. Sadie must of heard my groaning because she started hysterically laughing. When I decided I had had enough of her nonsense so i got up and pushed her off the bed before she could stop me. She hit the ground with a loud thump then immediately got up and lunged at me. In a flash she had tackled me to the ground. After wrestling for far too long we got ready for the day.

While getting ready my phone dinged indicating that i had gotten a text

Matteo:

Hey Kiara,it's  Matteo. I was wondering if you were still free to go on that date with tonight.

Kiara:

Yes i am still free tonight.

Matteo:

That's great. How about I come and pick you up at your apartment lobby at 8pm.

Kiara:

That works for me. See you later

Today was my brothers best friends birthdays so he was hosting a pool party at 3pm.We were done getting ready by 2 so we decided to go through the fro-yo shop before we went to the party. Once we got there my brother wandered off with Jason, who was the birthday boy, and Sadie had joined Daniel, her boyfriend, and his friends in the pool. Not wanting to tag along with either of those groups I resorted to lounging on one of the pool side chairs while watching the waves down below crash onto the Oregon coastline.

I remember when I was a child my parents would take Andre, Malik, and I to the beach house and we would spend our summer days splashing in the water and our summer nights playing board games or watching movies as a family. Those times were long gone and I knew our family would never go back to how it was because 1 my mom would no longer be able to accompany us on our smore making competitions or on our trips to the small island off the coast and 2 my dad had grown into a heartless prick who would rather spend an hour in the office that an hour with his family. I really missed my mom, it had been a long time since I had visited her grave and i honestly was avoiding going there because it always made me remember how good my life was before my dad got this company. Before he had made my mom depressed and distant. Before he drove her so mad that she thought the best option she had was killing herself, leaving her 3 children motherless. But after all this was not the place to be thinking about my misfortunes.

I tore my eyes off the beach down below and looked around the grand mansion bustling with people

It huge yet it was packed to the brim with hundreds of people. After a while it was getting too hot outside so i went inside for i drink. When I was pouring myself some of the lemonade a guy approached me. He was tall and very handsome to say the least. I couldn't tear my eyes off of him. He walked toward me and stopped right in front of me.

"So, What are you doing standing here alone" he said pouring himself a drink.

" I didn't come all alone, it's just that I ended up well, all alone."

"Lemme guess you came with a date and he ended up leaving with one of those cliche models." he said rolling his eyes

"No, actually my bestfriend is with her boyfriend and my brother is somewhere with the birthday boy. Did your date leave with those incredibly cocky guys?"

"No actually my boyfriend just broke up with me in the car while we were driving here" He said shaking his head in disbelief.

"Well since we both got ditched why don't we just go have our own fun."

"Actually I would really enjoy that, by the way I'm Kyle" he said and we clinked our glasses.

** Time skip to 6:00 **

After partying like crazy we were exhausted. We had started out in the kitchen just laughing while drinking several glasses of whatever was being served and laughing about all the horrible ways his exes have broken up with him. Once we were drunk enough we ended up dancing on the tables outside by the pool causing the guys to get out of the pool and party with us and all the jealous girls to sit and stare at us with fire in their eyes. Eventually we were ready to leave so Kyle and I got an uber and headed home. When we got back to my apartment it was 6:30 so I went and took a shower and got ready for my date with Matteo while Kyle watched tv on my couch.

In no time I was ready to go. I had my hair down in its natural state and my makeup was very minimal. With my remaining time I sat and watched some tv with Kyle. When it reached 8 i went down to the lobby with Kyle. I hugged Kyle goodbye when i saw Matteo standing across the lobby waiting for me. As I walked towards Matteo i suddenly got nervous. It was not until now that I realized that I was actually going on a date with this attractive man. Now i was self conscious and I was convinced that I was going to trip over my own feet.

"Wow kiara, you look... wow" he said with his eyes quickly scanning my body then watching my eyes can him too. He was in a white formal shirt with the sleeves rolled up and black pants. Despite the simplicity of his outfit he looked absolutely delectable.

"And you look wow too Matteo" i said making fun of his lack to find a better word.

"Well should we get going now he said gesturing to the beautiful black Audi parked outside the building. I nodded then he lead me to the car, opening the door for me then closing it after I had gotten in. The drive was less than 10 minutes away but we ended up at one of my favorite restaurants. It was on the more expensive side but it has not anything ridiculous so I didn't feel bad making him pay for dinner even though it seemed like a really expensive dinner would not leave even a small dent in his pocket.

Once we were settled in our seats he started a conversation and we ended up talking and laughing so much that we had dragged the dinner out 2 hours. By now we could see that the waiters were starting to wrap up so we left. I could truthfully say that was the best date I had ever been on. We connected immediately and I could tell that we could possibly be something more. And even though i didn't mind when guys expected sex on the first date i was glad he didn't because i really wanted to build a relationship with him. Don't get me wrong, this man was attractive beyond belief and his gentle and comforting voice made me want to cuddle in bed with him in bed all day. I just wanted this one to be different and I had a feeling that this was going to grow into something different than I had before.
