"Gio tends to blow things out of proportion. He doesn't really mean to but he does." I looked up into his eyes. I could see the pain he felt and how Gio's behavior affected him. His fists were clenched but his face looked tired.
"How about you head down and grab us some lunch. I will try to talk to Gio." I said guiding him to the elevator. He silently nodded and stepped into the elevator once it arrived. When he stepped in we heard a frustrated yell from the room
"Please be patient with him," He said quickly bringing me into his tired arms and kissing the top of my head. This time I was the one to give him the silent nod. I walked toward the room and I had no clue what to expect.
When I opened the door it was silent. I didn't see him at first but after i closed the door i spotted him near the window looking at me. On the floor was a stapler, pens, and a book. The rest of the room seemed cleaned and bothered but his appearance contrasted that cleanliness. His hair was disheveled and his tie was clenched in his hand. When he looked at me it was like looking at a lifeless body. No emotion. No movement. Nothing that made him look like he was alive. I was unsure what to do. His stare started to make me feel uneasy.
I walked towards him and he took a step back and turned away from me. I stopped hurt that he didn't want me to help him. "Im here, like you wanted" I said, trying to get him to talk to me. I once again started walking towards him and slowly put my hand on his rigid back. He took a deep breath but then stayed silent. I put my purse on the ground then walked around him so we were face to face. He refused to look me in the eyes and kept his head to the side. "Gio?I- are you okay?"
"I don't need this" he grumbled then walked away from me and placed himself on the couch. I sat in the big chair behind his desk. On the desk layed statements denying the business permission to build on one of their properties due to its historical and cultural significance to the community. This must have been why he was frustrated. I looked at him and he was sitting with his head laying back on the couch with his hands limply to his sides. I gave him a few more minutes to himself before I walked around the desk and to him. I sat next to him and just laid my head on his shoulder. He gently wrapped his around me and we sat in silence. Not too much later Mattero walked in with chipotle from across the street. We ate without saying a word. I tried to make small talk but it remained in between Matteo and I. Gio refused to join in on the conversation
"Well i've got somewhere to be at 1:30. Before i go can we talk about this'' I said referring to the situation at hand
"What is there to talk about Kiara?" Gio said looking at me angrily like i was the one that did nothing wrong
"Gio not only did you disrespectfully DEMAND my presence but when I came to YOU ignored me. If you didn't want me here why did you ask me to come? Also don't think i've forgiven you for what you did earlier today. I have said previously that i want to work for my position on my own and not have everything handed to me like everything else has been in my life yet both of you went against my wishes. And now you have the audacity to ask me what is there to talk about. WHAT IS THERE TO TALK ABOUT?" I yelled frustrated and waited for either of them to say something. As Gio opened his mouth i said "There is nothing to talk about Gio, absolutely nothing. " I said sarcastically. Before either of them could say anything i grabbed my purse and stormed out. When I was waiting for the elevator I could hear them yelling at each other again.
I ignored the part of me that wanted to go in and stop them from fighting and got into the elevator. I made my way down and took a taxi across town to where I was going to meet with Viola, Cindy, Kida, David, and Kai. Kida and I arrived there at the same time and everyone else was already there.
"Hello I'm Silvia Deveno" A tall dark haired woman said walking towards us. "I am the one that will be showing you guys around the area today. I do understand that we have to cover a lot of land in 2 hours so lets just get started." We were seated in two golf carts and driven around the suburban streets. We stopped every so often so she could explain to us things about the neighborhoods and businesses in the area. After 2 long hours of her talking and showing us around we returned to where we began. She said bye to us and we went in seperate directions. I caught an uber back to my apartment to grab my car and a few clothes.
When i got in my apartment i noticed that the door was open and a lot of the things had been boxed and moved out. That's when I remembered that the movers were starting to move our things over to the house today. From around the corner walked a pair of men carrying a big box. I moved out of their way and let them finnish their work while I grabbed what I needed from what they had not packed up yet.
