Backstory:
Before he was a guardian he had a life and he remembers it, every painful detail.

His mother died in his birth, the pain was too much for her and with it being in the 1500's, there wasn't much medical care for her.
As Anthony cried, he remembered a shadow in the corner. But that didn't matter because he was a baby and his mother wasn't there and he was scared.

Anthony was born in a time of pirates, magic and supernatural.
His father was no exception to this, being a demon.
His mother was human.
His father decided to try and get past the pain of his wife dying and raise what was left with her.
However every day anthony looked more and more liked his mother.
It caused his father too much pain, to look into his sons eyes that were to similar to his deceased wife.
So he drank. He drank to forget.
Life for Anthony with his father became different.
First it was neglect, then yelling at him, then throwing punches for doing something bad then it was punches just for the hell of it.
He saw a lot of the shadow, he got to know the shadow better. The same shadow from when his mother died. The boogeyman.

His father and him got into a fight, one where Anthony argued back.
His father disowned him, tried to kill him.
But Anthony was fast and escaped.
The boogeyman followed.

Anthony was on the streets and would tell stories to get money from passers by. He would tell stories to other kids to calm them down.
Stealing became second nature and he did it for survival, however it wasn't much for his. The other kids were much hungrier, so what if he went a while without food? The others were getting better.
The boogeyman rolled his eyes at Anthony's excuses.

Anthony decided to join the navy for a place to stay when he became of age.
He became a deckhand and was pushed around a lot. It started as harmless pranks and became much more violent. He saw the boogeyman a lot. He swore he going crazy.

He spoke to the king but was shunned and ignored. He was laughed at. It was night when he got back on the ship.
That's when all hell broke loose.
A member of his crew was waiting for him.
They knew what he did. That he told the king.
They threw him against the deck, they fought.
The boogeyman told Anthony he was going to die if he just lay there.
He felt a wrath in his bones.
He blacked out.
He opened his eyes to see blood all over his hands and a knife in the crew member.
Anthony ran.
The boogeyman followed.

Anthony became a wanted man.
He led a revolution and became a pirate.
He would tell stories to his crew members all night about his life and far away lands like he used to do and would play pranks on his crew to keep morale alive.
The boogeyman still stayed, he appeared when Anthony had nightmares, when Anthony was held prisoner and tortured.
Anthony was always scared and the boogeyman always appeared.

One day a bounty hunter and his crew took Anthony's ship.
They came for Anthony, the boogeyman watched from a distance.
The bounty hunter grabbed Anthony, bent his arm behind his back and held a dagger to his throat.
"Your father says hi" the bounty hunter spoke before Anthony felt pain.
He couldn't speak, words didn't come out only blood.
His throat had been cut.
He was thrown into the water, a painful and slow death as he drifted down.
This time the boogeyman didn't follow.

He woke up to see the moon and was told he would tell stories to children the children as they slept to keep their imaginations running wild and that he would pull pranks to keep their mischief going. All kids needed a bit of well placed mischief.

Anthony didn't know this yet, but the boogeyman was pitch.
He'd soon find out that he was in fact pitch's longest believer.
That should be fun.

Other:
-He still has his pirate hat but rarely wears it
-he longs for a family though he doubts he will get one.

-his father was a demon (no but for real) and his mother was human. This means he is half demon. He isn't sure if it carried in into his Guardian life tho...

-he's from England originally and has the accent to prove it, although it's not as strong after 500 years of being like this (it gets stronger when he's angry)

-he has a scar on his neck from his death that he hides with his green scarf

-he's kind of the reason some kids are on the verge of being on the naughty list (shhhh)

-he also may have not so accidentally broken some eggs as a dare.... bunny wasn't too pleased about that.

-due to being dead, when he blushes his cheeks go a purple colour

-if he tells a story and thinks hard enough then that thing will appear in real life. It lasts for a short while though.

So for now he waits, he tells stories to the children as they sleep and whisper the tales to them in the day. The kids think it's their imaginations- little do they know it's the guardian of imagination.
Some guardians find his pranks annoying so they never stick around long enough to hear his stories.
