I paced around the room. The dark windowless walls felt like they were closing in around me. I kept walking. I knew I was going nowhere, but I had to do something. If I sat still, I knew I would suffocate in the darkness. Even so, I stopped for a moment, and took a better look around. All I could see was a single table and two chairs taking up the majority of the small space. Although, there was something else in there too, hiding in the darkness.
A tall figure, shorter than me, but about my width. I stared at it in silence, waiting for it to move. In the nearly pitch black of the room, only lit by a dim ceiling light, it felt as if this thing was alive, silently observing me, waiting for the right moment. Shakily, and against my better judgement, I slowly approached it. Breathing heavily, I neared, and I was able to make out what it was. Oh, yeah, the water cooler.
