Whispers floated through the air to meet with Luhan’s ears. Tones of admiration and awe, all as he walked through the front gates towards a more quieter and secluded area for a peace of mind. All he could do was remain silent and continue walking, keeping his back straight and a confident gait to match. He blocked out everything with only one destination in mind, the quiet spot he’d found behind the Administration Office where no one ever visited.

“Hey, isn’t that Lily?”

“Yeah! It must be! She’s so pretty; too pretty that it seems like she probably had surgery done or something.”

“Wow, isn’t that chick totally hot?”

“Her figure is a little small, but it kind of makes you want to protect her.”

“She’s like a little lamb amongst us wolves.”

Laughter, snide remarks, jealousy, pride. Luhan could hear every word they said, and even if he tried his best to ignore them, some still penetrated his inner barriers. He grit his teeth, his face remaining stoic and swept his way through the crowds that easily parted before he quickly hurried to his private spot while making sure no one followed him.

Having escaped the crowds and their staring, he made his way to the small garden hidden by the office. Luhan stood in the centre, letting the morning sunlight filtering through the tree branches to warm his face and closed eyelids, calming him down from the underlying anger he held.

It wasn’t that he wanted to be called “Lily”, but people seemed to make assumptions and before he knew anything, someone had come up to him and asked him if he was “Lily”. He was so confused but he couldn’t answer. That one person took his silence as a yes and began gushing to others that his name was “Lily”. Somehow or other, the name had sprung from the fantasies of the males, who had thought Luhan was as pretty as a flower, and decidedly called him so.

Unable to rid himself of the irritating thoughts, his anger remained untamed. Luhan eyes snapped open when he couldn’t remain still any longer and decided to let out his anger by kicking over an empty pot. Since he was wearing open-toed wedges, he ended up hurting his feet instead of the pot. He let out a growl of displeasure and fisted his hands in the fabric of the dress he wore.

Looking down at himself, he could see the pastel coloured, floral dress he wore with a simple white cardigan on top. His wig of long brown hair was let loose, flowing in soft waves down his back. Even his makeup was done up flawlessly, emphasising just the rights points of his face. Somehow, he’d come to perfect his look and now, he inevitably has to deal with those he attracts.

He straightened himself, checking the time on his watch as he picked up his bag that he’d dropped and hurried to his first class. Entering the classroom, Luhan made his way to the back of the room, seating himself beside the open window. Others began to file into the room, before the one person Luhan could not stand stepped inside.

Kris stepped inside and looked around, hoisting his bag higher back onto his shoulder, eyeing the room before he spotted the one person he was looking for. His face brightened as he made his way towards Luhan, almost bouncing on his heels in his excitement. “Lily!” he exclaimed, loud enough that the rest of the class heard. “You’re as beautiful as always.”

Luhan scoffed, Why is this idiot always talking to me? He thought, turning his face away to look out the window instead. Unfortunately, the seat in front of him remained unoccupied and Kris took the seat. Much to his annoyance, the boy turned around to stare at his face with a goofy grin. Just endure it. You only have one hour left. Don’t do anything rash, he reminded himself, not to prevent himself from getting into trouble but to save the other boy from his fists.
