"I'll see you later Badi Maa"
"Okay, Come soon"
"I will" She called, lifting her purse onto her shoulder before stopping when someone stood in her way.
"Abeer!" Rajshri smiled & he smiled back at her.
"What are you doing here?" Mishti asked him & he pulled a face.
"I came to see Badi Maa" He shrugged.
"Oh. Okay" She smiled, about to walk off.
"Wait" he stood in her way, only just realising that she was on her way out. "Where are you going?"
"I have things to do" She said simply. "Now move out of my way"
"Wait, I'll come with you" He told her but she shook her head.
"No, it's okay" She said. "Badi Maa" She called, watching Abeer's eyes widen. "Abeer says he's here to see you" She said, highly amused as Abeer pulled a face at her.
"Oh, really?" She said happily,
"Yeah" he smiled at Rajshri when Mishti grinned as he scowled at her.
"Have fun!" She tapped his arm before walking off. "Byee!"
"Bye Beta!" Rajshri called back. "Come in Abeer. I'll serve you some breakfast."
Mishti chuckled to herself before walking out of the door, turning to quickly glance at Abeer as he was being led to the dining table. He turned to glare at her as she waved his way before disappearing.

She finished what she was doing & looked up. "DiDi, I'll finish all this off, you go home"
"Are you sure?"
"Of course DiDi, go"
"Okay, I'll see you later"
"Bye" She smiled & sighed before taking the paperwork & going through them.

She heard the door close behind her & sat back in her seat, reading the document carefully to make sure there weren't any other changes to be made to the request for funding.

Out of nowhere, she felt someone shake her shoulders, her heart leaping out of her chest as she heard someone chuckle beside her. She looked up & saw Abeer sat on the desk, in front of her. "Ajeeb Rajvansh!" She sighed, catching her breath, her hand to her chest. "You scared the life out of me!" She said hitting his arm.
"Ow! I was trying to surprise you! Sorry, remind me never to do that again!" He said rubbing his arm.
"Is that how you surprise someone!?" She exclaimed
"I didn't realise Angry Chorni was feeling extra violent today, did I!?"
"I'm always violent. You should know that by now!" She glared at him before shaking her head & reading the papers in front of her. "How was breakfast by the way?" She teased, smiling to herself.
"Very funny." He taunted as she chuckled. "Badi Maa told me to bring this for you" he said placing the small metal container on the table in front of her.
"What is it?" She asked, excitedly & opened it to see her favourite dish, in front of her. "Wow! Khichdi!" She exclaimed, about to dig in when she saw a hand appear out of nowhere, reaching for it. So she batted it away.
"Oi!" He exclaimed & she looked up at him as she moved it away from him.
"You're not coming near my khichdi"
"But Badi Maa said to share it!"
"Badi Maa's not here, I am. & I'm not sharing it with you, got it?" She told him & sat back comfortably.
"You're extra violent & extra mean today" he pouted & she looked up at him.
"I am." She said proudly, about to dig into her dish when Abeer moved it from in front of her.

"Ajeeb Rajvansh!" She exclaimed, trying to grab it back from him but he moved it out of her reach. One of the joys of their height difference.
"I have something to tell you"
"I don't care, give me my khichdi back" She told him & he shook his head. "Abeer!" She complained. "I'll call Badi Maa & tell her" she said, grabbing her phone.
"Go on, I'll tell her you're being greedy & you don't believe in sharing with your to-be-husband" He teased & she slammed her phone down on the desk. "I didn't realise you were so greedy for food" He teased & her mouth gaped open.
"Is that right?" She asked, pushing her chair back.
"Mishti" he warned, getting up at once. "Mishti, it was a joke!" he said, backing away slowly.
"No, no, I'm greedy, aren't I? I'll show you how greedy, I am!" She said then heard her phone ringing from the desk. Causing Abeer to sigh in relief.
"Thank God!"

"Wait just a second!" She warned grabbing her phone from the desk. "Hello? Yes Badi Maa? Yeah, Abeer just came here." She said turning to glare at him as he stood there with a smirk on his face before turning away from him. "Badi Maa, I thought you love me more but clearly you love your Heera more! What do you mean, 'what do I mean'? He's not letting me have my khichdi in peace. Says I have to share it with him. Well, maybe I don't want to!" She threw a tantrum. "Yeah, yeah. Leave it Badi Maa." she shook her head & the next thing she knew, she felt him place his arms around her waist, making her smile as she tried to shrug him off, but he held onto her tighter, moving in a lot closer to her. "Badi Maa" she said looking up at him to see him smirking at her when she pretended to scowl at him, trying to mouth at him to let go of her. But he shook his head so she turned away from him, smiling to herself. "Badi Maa, you sent your heera over here to distract me from my work, didn't you? Yeah, that's what he's doing with the food & all. No, I'll be home soon. I just need to finish this proposal & then I'm done. Okay. Love you too"
"& me?" He asked, resting his chin on her shoulder, causing her to lean her head back slightly to look at him.
"What about you?" She scoffed then began to release his hands from around her. "Would you let me go! Anyone could walk in"
"No one can." He assured her. "Not when I've locked the door" He said proudly & her eyes widened.
"You didn't!?" She gasped, releasing his hands from her at once. "Ajeeb Rajvaansh!" she said rushing over to see the locks were all open. But when she tried the door, it wouldn't open. That was when she spotted the keyhole & turned to him, folding her arms as he approached her, throwing the keys up & playing catch with them.

"Abeer, give me the keys" She demanded
"Nope" he shook his head simply.
"Abeer!" she warned him, trying to reach for the keys & but he moved them out of her reach.
"You can be violent all you want. You're not going anywhere"
"Abeer!" She complained & he shrugged. She sighed before spotting something behind him.
"What?"
"Nothing" she rolled her eyes, "let me make sure I closed the box of khichdi He looked at her in confusion then shrugged, continuing to play catch with the keys.

The next thing he knew someone snatched the keys from him. "Hey!" He exclaimed & turned to see Mishti was stood on the chair. "Angry Chorni!" He exclaimed in disbelief.
"Yes! Don't underestimate Angry Chorni, got it!" she said, about to step down off the chair when she slipped, causing Abeer to catch her in his arms, with a smile.

She held onto the keys tightly, as his arms tightly gripped her waist, whilst she silently regretted the fact that this dress didn't have a pocket. A small one at least! "You're not getting them"
"You think I won't take it from you?" he told her confidently & she glared at him. "Haq hai mera" He said holding her closer to him & she tried to suppress her smile as she attempted to wriggle out of his arms. "Not so fast" He said standing her up so that he could pull her close to him, holding her against his body, the warmth between them reaching her cheeks. He ran his hand through her hair, caressing her cheek so it took her a second before she regained her senses.

"Abeer" She said sweetly & he nodded his head at her, gesturing her to speak up. "I'll give you to the count of 3, if you don't let go by then, I'll scream & then someone from outside will have to break the door down. Then what will you do?"
"Mishti" he warned, glaring at her.
"Angry Chorni" She corrected him with a smile & he reluctantly let go of her. "Thank you" She tilted her head at him before turning away to gather her things.
"I only let you go because I don't have the money to replace the door yet." He sulked. "The funding hasn't come through. Otherwise I wouldn't let go so easily" He said & Mishti smiled to herself before turning to him, wiping the smile from his face as she handed him a piece of paper.

"That's why I've put this together" She said, & he looked at her, his eyebrows raised. "Take it" She told him & he did as he was told. He scanned through the document. A proposal letter. A smile appeared on his face & he looked up to see her leaning on the back of the chair.
"When did you do all this?"
"I drafted it at home last night but I typed it up & printed it out when I got here. That's why I was in such a rush to leave. I knew that if you came with me, I wasn't going to get any work done" She pulled a face at him & he pulled her close again.
"That's true" He smiled
"See. I told you" She sighed playfully.
"Thank you for this. It'll help us expand our efforts & help more people"
"Exactly what you wanted, mm?" She asked & he nodded before he leaned forward & kissed her cheek, making her smile. "Shall we go? Badi Maa's waiting" She said & he nodded so she took his hand & handed him the keys, making him smile. "Unlock the door. I'll get my things"
"Okay" He said & made his way towards the door to unlock it as she began to put her things back into her bag. Closing the container with the khichdi in it before making her way to the door.

"Ready?"
"Yep, let's go" she said & he gestured for her to walk out so she did, waiting for him as followed her & locked the door behind them, putting the keys back in his pocket.

He took her hand in & they began walking off, smiling at one another as they began totalk along the way.
