Your POV

Even though Tord left, his words lingered. As my mind became scattered with thought, my eyes dotted the cell, searching for a escape. For a while my eyes dotted the floor until it met the wall, back and forth, searching for what never existed. I turned my eyes to see something sharp, something that shouldn't be there. I got up and approached it soon later examining it. It was a sword but before I could pick it up, the others woke up.

Edd was first to talk. "Where are we?" he asked. I approached my cell door since Edd and Matt was across, Edd was worried while Matt kept touching his face.

"I don't know. Tord came in earlier and said something about us training for a war. I don't really know what that's supposed to mean though." I say. I heard shuffling behind me. I turned to see that the green light on Tom's goggles were now red. This can't be good.

"Tom?" I asked. Tom shuffled again before he opened his mouth.

"What do you want? Ugh, sometimes you're so annoying. Very annoying even." Tom groaned. I shake my head. This wasn't like him, I know that. It was something with the goggles I think. "Well?"

I walked towards Tom very slowly, hands above my head. "That's not like you Tom." I walk to Tom's side to notice that he's struggling. I raised one of my hands to his face as he groaned.

"Go away." he said sternly. I shook my head and took off his goggles showing his black voids, relief seemed to wash over him.

"I'm sorry y/n. I couldn't control myself. It was like.... like I was in a dark place far from my body. I'm s-" I interrupt Tom with a hug.

"It's alright. I knew it wasn't you. A girlfriend gots to know these things." Tom blushed like crazy when I said 'girlfriend.'

The door opened as boots clicked across the floor. I quickly moved from Tom's side, putting on his goggles and sitting down. Laughter boomed down the hall as the clicks were getting louder. Soon enough I saw a caramel horn before I saw two. "All awake huh? Well I must say that it's time for you to train. Only one person shall be pulled from the rest. No matter who it is, you must continue to train." Tord said.

We all narrowed our eyes before our cell doors were opened. As we filed out we were handed sniper rifles, knives, grenades, ect. Soon enough we were in a room full of practice dummies. "Each one of you must be far apart. Including you y/n and Tom." Tord called us out. I hate being called out.

We did as we were told and started throwing knifes and grenades. I took out the sniper rifle and steadied my aim before pulling the trigger. I watched as the bullet traveled to it's target and went through the dummy's head. I turned to see how Edd was doing.

Edd's POV

I looked to see that y/n got the hang of this where I did not. I pulled the top off of a grenade and threw it. As I did, I saw that Matt was out were I was throwing it. I shouted for him to move but he wasn't paying attention. I watched helplessly as the grenade went off by him. Some medics rushed to get him, all reassuring that he'd be okay. What have I done?

Your POV

I saw everything. I'm sure it was an accident. I walked over to Edd, hearing him say that he hurt Matt and he'll never forgive him over and over again. I rubbed him back as I pulled him into a hug. "I'm sure you didn't mean to Edd." I say softly.

"How could I be so careless? I'm a awful person." Edd said.

"No you're not. You didn't see him." I say. Edd looked up at me with tears in his eyes.

"You don't know that. I should've yet I was careless. Therefore I'm an awful person." I never seen Edd like this in my life. It broke me into two seeing him like this. I felt something warm flowing down my cheeks. Tears I thought.

"Edd we been through a lot and I know that you're not a awful person. You just didn't see him." I say. Edd shook his head before burying it into my hoodie. I knew that Matt was going to be fine. Or that's what I hoped for anyways.

Paul came out and took us back to our cells. Tom was with Edd this time. We been through a lot, why did this have to happen to us?

Edd's POV

It was past midnight and I still haven't fell asleep. A lot of thoughts were on my mind. It was all my fault. I should've been aware. Tom was already asleep as was y/n. No matter what happened, they seemed to find a way to bring joy to eachother. I frown. I wonder if Matt's still alive. I hope he is otherwise I have done much worse then what I thought I did.

~Time skip to morning~

Your POV

We filed out to have breakfast but my worried for Edd. He had dark circles under his eyes as well as a faint beard. "Did you sleep at all Edd?" I asked. Edd shook his head. I knew what was on his mind. "I'm sure he'll be f-"

"Can you three follow me please?" Patryk asked. We nod as we follow him. We were lead to a medic room and there was Matt.

We were relieved but that all went away. Matt had a cyborg eyes and a medal chin. "Hello." Matt said.

"Have you seen you face?" Tom asked, pointing.

I handed Matt a mirror as he stared at it in horror. "My face!" he screamed. He handed me back the mirror as we were lead to a office. On the door it said R. L. on it. I had the slightest clue.

Patryk opened the door revealing Tord sitting in a chair behind a desk while smoking a cigar. "Ah, come in come in. Sit down and get ready to hear some news." he said. We did as we were told. "It's time you go out for war." he said. Great news huh?

"But who are we fighting?" Edd asked. I nodded. Tord kept going on about a war but never told us who it was with.

"Glad you asked that. It's against, let's say rebels who wishes not to obey my rules." he said. "And you four will be cleaning them out for me."

"By ourselves?" Matt spoke.

"Well not entirely. You'll be with a few soldiers." I roll my eyes. He's practically sending us on a death wish. We nod. "Now go. Best of luck." Tord said. I growl silently as we get outside of the office. We got uniforms as well as a few weapons. Edd told us the plan but I just hoped that it worked.
