"We are going to visit Ouran Academy in Bunkyo, I believe," Osamu answered, setting down his pen and stretching, "why do you ask?"

"Ouran Academy? That prestigious school?" Sonya asked shyly. She knew that name -- it was the title of the school Yoshiro Ootori, her recent lover's, son went to school. This thought made Sonya sick to her stomach. What if Osamu found out the truth of himself?

"Mother? You look ill. You should go lay down if you are." Osamu frowned, watching his mother pale in her thoughts. Sonya blinked, suddenly aware if the world around her. She smiled at her sun and waved her hand, "No, no," she answered, sitting across from Osamu, "just...a little ill, I guess."

Osamu stacked his papers, setting them into his backpack and looked at his mother. "Mother," Osamu said, looking st the family portrait behind his mother, "I have a question."

"You can ask me whatever you wish, dear." Sonya said, taking her son's hand gently.

"Are you and Father truly my parents?"

Sonya felt her eyes blink, tears wanting to spill. Words wanting to drip, wanting to tell the truth, the truth of something she could never tell her beloved son.

"Of course we are," Sonya lied through her teeth, "we are your parents. I can even get a blood test to show it. Your birth certificate proves it as well."

Osamu nodded. "It just seems like we aren't related," Osamu said, "none of us look alike."

Sonya smiled. "Well, genetics have funny ways of working, don't they?"
