"This is a warning set by the Six. The machines will be turned off for approximately six hours. Expect rainfall in five hours time."
"Hey!" Lekereianale grabbed my arm. "Did you want to head to the cafe today? I heard the twins are working."
Lekereianale (and her siblings) latched onto me like a lost puppy, so I was forced to have them always by my side. Wherever I went. All the time. It could be quite the nuisance, all things considered, but at the same time it was a relief to have someone around at all times. Nashirme was back to selling trinkets on the street, though her face was less seen. Abers was working under the Six as a technician, so I saw him often. And the twins worked at a cafe that was just down the ways from here. I nodded to Lekereianale, and we both began walking to the cafe.
"I gotta go back home after this," I said. "Need some clothes."
Maybe Ikalanig expected this, but after it all went down, and I was free to go, I left the Six on my own as yet a wanderer. A homeless. Even if I technically had a place to go. I went back to the Six ever so often to get clothes or at least see Ika to tell him I'm doing well. Because even after finally finding peace with Mom's grave, after five Giants keep their heels on mine, I was still doing well.
We walked to the cafe, and Weshin and Westik greeted us immediately.
"Hey!" they said at the same time. They both immediately glared at each other.
"Hey," I replied.
This life was easy.
And now I knew my path.
