Bargaining with Mermen

Chapter 5

      Soobin couldn't decide whether he was relieved or dissapointed when two familiar faces walked in the patio door. "YAH!!!WHERE WERE YOU TWO??!" Beomgyu was the first one to run up to them. Taehyun followed behind with a relieved smile. "We had to go for a swim, Hueningkai got dizzy." Yeonjun looked shocked that the humans were all looking at him with looks of joy, shock, and anger. "We're sorry, we didn't know we would worry you, why would we leave out of nowhere?" Hueningkai brushed off the sand from his feet and stepped inside the door.
     "You guys go away for a very long time, do you know how boring it is here alone?" Yeonjun whined. "Well everyone's here, we shouldn't get into fights! We've only been friends for a day and a half! Trust building is important!" Soobin finally contributed to the conversation. "I agree, were both risking things by helping each other so trust shouldnt be broken, next time you can leave a note I'll leave paper and a pen on the counter." Taehyun said it softly, as if not to anger the Mermen into leaving.
     Yeonjun was smiling, soobin said they were friends and Taehyun said they shouldn't break trust, meaning they would be with each other a long time. "AAAAIISH STOP THE TENSION ITS SETTLED LETS JUST GO BACK TO NORMAL THEY WENT FOR A DIP, END OF STORYYY." beomgyu waved his hands and emptied a bag of food on the counter. "Food!" Yeonjun rushed over to see. "Aren't your parents getting a bit concerned at you two staying over all the time?" Taehyun crossed his arms and looked at beomgyu and Soobin. "I'm a grown man Taehyun, i can stay where I want you make me sound five..." Soobin pouted slightly but took a bite out of the bread that beomgyu brought back. "I'll stay at my house tonight and sneak out when they call asleep they won't notice." Beomgyu then snatched the food everyone had started to dig through, and put them away.
"I read that Mermen are also called sirens in some stories, and they can manipulate men's minds. I wanted to test any power like that today." Taehyun was excited, they all knew he wanted to do several tests, but Hueningkai didn't see how this would help their case. "Alright I'm down." Yeonjun swooped in and stole a bite of beomgyus pizza.(which he also bought.) Beomgyu didn't even say anything, he was getting used to it. He gave a look and sighed. "Alright let's do it.." he sat down his pizza and followed the others outside.
     "Yeonjun?" Beomgyu asked from the water. Hueningkai had gotten in a shifted, and was now being tested with soobin and Taehyun. "You aren't getting in?" Beomgyu stood from the water. "Huh? Oh ..yeah I am." Yeonjun hesitantly got in. Earlier when Hueningkai and him went for a swim he had hurt hueningkais shoulder going predatory. He was relieved when he didn't feel a change in behavior as he changed. Beomgyu smiled, relieved there wasn't a problem.
     "Seduce him." Taehyun told Hueningkai to seduce soobin. "Ah,...um..ok.." Hueningkai started to get closer and he touched soobins neck. "NO NO NOT LIKE THAT OH MY GOD I MEANT TRY WITH YOUR 'MAGIC' " Taehyun covered his eyes. Hueningkai turned red and sat back again."Right! Right. Sorry my bad." Soobin was stone still from the touch that he wasn't sure if he would still be a good test subject for this. Hueningkai stared at him. He looked everywhere but hueningkais eyes nervously. "No no you need eye contact Hyung!" Taehyun cried. Soobin could tell Taehyun was impatient and he made eye contact. He wasn't sure if he was being seduced or not. He felt butterflies, but he wasn't sure if they were already there before he was being 'seduced'. Taehyun smiled with a giggle. "Wh-what am i doing something wrong again?" Soobin asked him flustered. "Test over, test over." Taehyun waved his hands. "You two swim around while I test yeonjun."
     Taehyun was going to test when he saw a car on the road by the house. A familiar car."UNDERWATER GET UNDERWATER!" he suddenly whisper-screamed. No one questioned him, since he usually has a good reason. Soobin, beomgyu, and Taehyun held their breathe and went under with yeonjun and Hueningkai.
Taehyun could hold his breath for a decent amount of time, and he was an excellent swimmer. His mother was a lawyer and his father was a marine biologist so he had plenty of practice throughout his life. He was worried however, about soobin and beomgyus faces scrunching trying to hold their breath longer. Taehyuncould still see the wavy outline of the car, they couldn't come up, they'd be done for. Please soobin, beomgyu hold it just a little longer. Hueningkai looked at Soobin worried, he couldn't swim so he's probably never had to hold his breath for long. He looked as if he was about to give out, Hueningkai gave Taehyun a worried look. Beomgyu, gripped onto yeonjun's arm, trying so hard. Taehyun kept an eye on the cars outline and made sure it drove away. He gestured for them to come up fast. Yeonjun swam beomgyu up, while Hueningkai brought soobin. They both coughed and gasped. Taehyun inhaled a deep breath too. Soobin held his chest and bent over onto the sand, coughing. Yeonjun looked to beomgyu who was still taking deep breathes, he was about to ask if he was alright when beomgyu waved that he was fine. Hueningkai helped soobin up after he had stopped coughing. "Taehyun what the hell was that?!" Yeonjun said. He had forgotten that humans can't hold their breathe long, and seeing beomgyu and Soobin like that was terrifying. "My parents!thwy were in a car up there! Did they see us? If they saw us were all screwed!" Taehyun started pacing running his hands through his hair. "I'm sure they didn't even if they did, our tails were underwater! Its too far to see! Calm down Taehyun!" Yeonjun eased his worry.
   "Honey I'm sure they were just normal boys!" She tried to calm the sinister look on her husband's face. "No. I've seen them before. I know I did. I'm not crazy! Just reschedule the cruise we as parents should've leave our son with dangerous creatures!" He slammed the car door and walked into his hotel. "Taehyun is a good boy dear! He'll be fine there's no such thing as sirens! He expects us home tommorow!" The attempted reasoning went unheard. "Then we will ask him if he made any friends while we were gone, if he answers truthfully then I'll believe you, if not then you believe me. Deal?" His wife gave a concerned look but agreed." Deal.."
       
       "Taehyun, eat your pizza or it will get cold." Soobin said, concerned. "Why don't we all go to the amusement park tommorow?" Taehyun said out of nowhere. He knew his parents would come home tommorow, if he took everyone to the amusement park and came back, he could say that he went with friends from school. They would see beomgyu and Soobin and recognize them, he could say that soobin and hueningkai were their relatives.yeah. "an amusement park?" Hueningkais ears perked and he smiled. Everyone joined the smile." It sounds like fun yeah, that'd be cool." Yeonjun gave a cocky grin. "I have a feeling that I've gone to amusement parks as a human, i must be a pro. Eh Hueningkai? We're pros!"
