Bargaining with Mermen

Chapter 8

"Oooo do you want a kiss~" Hueningkai leaned in, joking to beomgyu. They had all teased him about being kissed by yeonjun. "He doesn't." Soobin said, a bit jealous. Beomgyu fake gagged at hueningkais suggestion. "When are they coming back by the way?" Soobin asked, now sitting in between beomgyu and Hueningkai. Taehyun pulled yeonjun out in the hallway to talk. "I know it sounds bad, but it's a good thing that happened, it means we made progress. The more progress the better!" Taehyun exclaimed. The new research boosted his confidence. Yeonjun had heard this several times and was feeling better, it was an accident and no one did die so he figured he should stop killing everyone's mood, it seems beomgyu didn't remember so he wouldn't be afraid of him. Good. "Ahhh I'm so happy we got progress!!!we should go to the beach! My parents left this morning it should be safe again!" Taehyun smiled. "Yeah, the beach sounds fun and Kai and i need some sea water before we dry up like salty white chicken." Yeonjun laughed and walked inside with Taehyun.
    "Hey guys want to go to the bea-" Taehyun stopped at the sight in front of him. "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING??!" Yeonjun started laughing, he couldn't hold it in. Hueningkai had pigtails in his hair from soobin and Beomgyu. "Well you guys took forever and we noticed hueningkais hair was long enough. One thing led to another-" Soobin said but smiled at Hueningkai suddenly flipping his hair. "Don't I look beautiful taehyunie~~?" Taehyun facepalmed. "Just-just get your shoes on were going to the beach.." Taehyun fought a laugh."and fix your hair please." He waited by the door with yeonjun while the three got ready. Beomgyu finished and met with them but Hueningkai couldn't get the hair ties out.
   "Owwww beomgyu tied them so tight!" Hueningkai winced. "Oh oh here let me help don't do that you'll damage it." Soobin went over to help undo his hair. When the hairties came out hueningkai ruffled his hair to fix it. "Does it look okay?" Hueningkai looked for soobins approval. "Yeah... Perfect." Soobin gave a thumbs up, turning red.
   "Would you two hurry upppp." Yeonjun groaned impatiently. "Coming coming!" Hueningkai hurried to the door and they started their walk.
   It was hot today, soobin soon realized when the sun was beaming on them as they walked. Beomgyu thought to himself, he remembered he missed school but why did Taehyun ditch? He shook off his thoughts when he saw yeonjun walk next to Hueningkai. "Do you want a piggyback? We can take turns were almost there." Yeonjun asked. Soobin looked to Hueningkai hoping he would say no for some reason. "Yeah!" Hueningkai hopped on yeonjun's back and yeonjun started running on the sand towards the water. Taehyun laughed, putting on sunblock whereas beomgyu and soobin looked like they had rainclouds over them. Soobin started blowing up his floaty.
      "AAAAIIISHHH HURRY UP HUMANS ARE SO SLOW!!!" yeonjun was with Hueningkai in the water, fully mermen. Beomgyu was getting his sunblock put on by Taehyun. "We'll see whos laughing when you burn." Beomgyu glared. Soobin got on the floaty and entered the water. Yeonjun got a mischevious look. "Hey soobin~~~" yeonjun said, circling his floaty like a shark. "Yah, yah yah yah don't come near me." Soobin was weary of what he wanted to do. Yeonjun laughed and started rocking his floaty. He rocked it too hard and Soobin fell off. "YAH!! HE CANT SWIM!!" Hueningkai splashed yeonjun angry and went under to save poor soobin. Soobin was panicking underwater, couldn't see, couldn't breathe. He was relieved when he felt soft hands hold his and bring him to the surface. "Thank you." Soobin hugged Hueningkai. He was genuinely very grateful. "Sorry, I forgot you can't swim." Yeonjun said. "Are you ok?" Hueningkai asked. Soobin pushed his wet bangs from his face and noticed his floaty right now was Hueningkai. He looked so ethereal with the sun hitting his golden tail. Damn it. "Soobin? You should put on sunblock your pink!" Taehyun laughed from the shore. He definetly wasn't pink from the sun. Hueningkai turned around in the water, panicking soobin for a second before he said. "Here hold my shoulders." Hueningkai revealed his shoulders above the water and Soobin nearly choked. How shameless of him. "Why?" Soobin said. "I want to help you swim without a floaty, its nice if you try it." Hueningkai smiled. Soobin didn't want to stay in the deep water anymore he couldn't swim to save his life. That smile though...he couldn't reject it he didn't want to see it go away, he would feel bad. "Only for a minute.." soobin finally said, placing his hands on hueningkais bare shoulders.
