"Good. There's just one more thing I want to teach you...""Oh, what is it?"
"I'm going to show you how to project a power." He beamed.
"That sounds weird, what is it?" I asked confusedly.
"If you want to protect a certain someone or a group of people, you can extend a shield of some sort. Its basically the same as the others. You can just think about it and then boom-it happens."
"Well, How can I know when it works then?"
"Obviously, the feeling you get. But also, you can see the shield. Only you though. Its nonexistent to everyone else."
"Oh ok. So just like-"
"Oh, I apologize dear, but I have to go. I have an important meeting I must attend." He said as he looked at me sorrily.
"Oh, ok. We can work on it later I guess." I frowned at the ground.
"If you want to, you can come to..." He grinned.
"No, it's fine, I'll stay here. You go to your meeting." I gave a weak smile.
"Ok then. Try not to cause too much trouble in my absence." And with a wink and a wave, he was gone.
I sat on the floor, bored. It seemed like it would take forever for him to get back. Then, I remember and mumbled to myself "If I have any power, that means I can speed up time!"
I attempted and at first I failed, but I didn't give up. I made sure to repeat the steps correctly and carefully. After I started to feel a tingling sensation, I opened my eyes to see that time was, indeed, going faster. If I didn't see the fire on all the trees sway back and forth at a ridiculous speed, I would've thought nothing had happened. It was also very helpful that I could see a little timer in front of me counting the time.
I fast forwarded almost 4 hours before he was back. I stopped playing with time and smiled hugely at him once I saw him approaching. I could feel he was suspicious, but curiously happy. "What did you do? That smile looks bad..."
"Nothing...except I figured out another power!!!" My face broke with excitement.
"That's cool, which one?" He asked kind of uninterested.
I triumphantly stood up and put my hands on my hips sassily. "Controlling of time." I cleaned my nails like it was no big deal.
He stood there, astonished. "In barely 4 hours!?"
"No, technically it was more like 3 1/2. Before I got to the idea I waited a bit."
"Wow." I heard hands clapping in the distance. "Amazing. I didn't think it was actually true, but here I am, face to face with my kings daughter."
A man advanced from the fire forest. I'm not going to lie, he's my type. Lengthy, but not too tall. Dark eyes, dark hair, muscular. He had a sense of fashion too. I put my tough act on. "Who are you?" I asked while intensely glaring at him.
"Lilly, calm down. This is Jordan." Satan calmly mentioned. "He's one of my old friends and-"
"Ahem, Only friends." He corrected. I couldn't help but let out a quiet chuckle.
"Yes that." He rolled his eyes. "When I told him about the prophecy coming true and you, he didn't believe me. So I brought him here so he can see for himself." Father gestured to me. "I wasn't lying."
"Ok, prove it. What am i-"
"Jordan, age 14 when dead, currently 167. Favorite place is his bedroom. Favorite color is blood red, oh just like me!" I remarked.
His deep chocolate eyes stared at me surprised. "I-I didn't e-"
"Finish your sentence? I know. You didn't need to." I smirked. "You shouldn't underestimate me."
He laughed. "I'll decide that when you get better clothes."
I blushed from embarassment. I forgot I haven't changed since I got here. I didn't smell bad, but my outfit looked like shit. I didn't realize how trashed it got.
"It's fine Lilly. That's another reason why I had Jordan come." He smiled nervously.
"What do you mean?"
"Come, let's have dinner."
