A/N: Chapters narrated by Sophia will be scarce so here ya go!
It was my best friend's birthday, the day of her party. December 13.
The day I realized who my best friend really was.
Gunshots still ring through my ears today.
Sophia Amber Riggs here.
16 year old piano prodigy.
Carnegie Hall pianist.
4.5 GPA.
I'm gorgeous, or so my parents say. I don't really think so. Going to NYU feels good, but so does performing in Carnegie Hall and getting a 4.5 GPA in junior year. I guess my life is pretty damn good, unlike Kara Snow's. Kara was stunning, with icy blonde hair, electric blue eyes, and light honey colored skin. Of course, she just had to be involved in the gang life. My parents think it's unsafe, but I guess her parents think differently. She was born into the gang life, therefore bred for it. I never really knew why she loved danger so much, until the night she turned 13. People say 13 is an unlucky number and honestly, I don't do superstitions.
***FF W 3 yrs***
I believe it now. 13 is unlucky. 13 put my friend in a coma. 13 made me move away. 13 is when you officially become a gang member. She was 13.
I live in New York City. By myself. In my very own penthouse on the 13th floor of New York, New York. Yes, I know the 13th floor. I almost refused to buy it.
Here's how my day goes:
Class
Piano
Study
Piano
Eat
Sleep
I get paid for performing. Just a million a year, nothing much.
