"Kyle, Kyle! WakeuppleaseIpromisetonevercallyouKylieagain! Plea-" I sputtered. With tears welling in my big, blue eyes, they looked like stormy seas. I feel his faint pulse, coursing through his body. Reaching for my phone, I realize I don't have it. Panic surges through my body. "HELP! HELP! Someone, please come. My brother is dying!"

Thank goodness we're still on hospital grounds. Otherwise, I don't know what I would do...

A nurse came running over, "Miss, what's wrong? How can we help?"

Startled by the sudden sound, I replied, "Get my brother into a room. I think he's going to die. His pulse is faint and I don't know what to do. Hurry." I run back inside the hospital, looking around, I realize I don't know which way my room is.

Damn. I'm screwed. I need my phone like now.

Trying to navigate the halls, I turned right, then left, then right again.

Where's the elevator?

Rushing down the halls, I find the glass elevator, without a single fingerprint.

There it is, I think to myself. It's beautiful, so fragile, so easy to destroy.

It's scary how my first instinct is to break such a cherished object. It's scary how I did it. It's scary how I knew the only thing I had to do was cut a single wire.

I have a confession. I poisoned my brother's water. I put him to sleep.

I. Killed. My. Brother.

My mind floods with guilt. I realize what I have done, and start weeping. I shouldn't weep. I have just made myself the heir of the strongest gang in the world.

I have a legacy to live up to.

Knowing my brother is going to die soon, I pick myself up off the cold, sparkling linoleum floors and head to the doors, knowing I need to train my butt off the next day.

-------

Ding-Dong.

Ah, finally my trainer has arrived. I'm ready to fight. For my life. I know someone wants my legacy. I know someone will eventually come to challenge me at the throne I was bred for.

Left, right, left, left, right, right, left-jab, round-house. I demolish the punching bag. My trainer has to drag me away to get water, "Stop! Snow, I need you to hydrate. I know I'm supposed to get you stronger, but if you don't take in some water, you're going to faint. Water. Now."

I reluctantly gulped in my water.

Wow that really does feel good.
