The next morning, Mackenzie felt her eyes flutter open and came face to face with a sleeping Dean. She couldn't stop a smile from appearing on her face when she thought about what happened between them the night before.
She still couldn't believe she had lost her virginity to him. It was something she had thought about before, but never thought it would happen- mostly because she never thought she would see him again. But somehow their paths had crossed again, that had to mean something, right?
As she watched him sleep, her smile turned into a frown. Maybe she was reading too much into things. She didn't know much about sex, but from what she had read online when she was supposed to be researching, she learned that most guys viewed sex as just that...sex. It didn't mean anything to them, it was just something they did to pass the time until the next girl came along. What if Dean were like the boys she read about?
Keeping an eye on him, she slowly slid out of the bed- careful not to wake him up. She knew it was her own fault for catching feelings for him, but she just couldn't handle hearing his apologies or excuses on why they couldn't see each other again. She knew that would break her heart.
She tiptoed around the room to find her clothes- she found her bra under the bed and tank top on the other side of the room. After putting the bra back on, she began to walk softly toward the bed and slipped the tank top on.
Reaching the end of the bed, she had her back facing it when she spied her panties and picked them up from the floor. As she slipped them on, Dean opened his eyes and felt confused when he saw an empty space beside him.
He rubbed the sleep from his eyes and pushed himself up from the bed, then turned his head to the side. He smirked when he saw her bent over to look for the discarded blue jean skirt- he had to admit, he loved seeing that ass in the air.
"What are you doing?" He yawned and turned from his stomach to sit up in bed.
Hearing his sleepy tone, she froze- like a deer caught in headlights. With an uncomfortable chuckle escaping her lips, she turned to look at him. "I was trying to make a quick escape, but failing miserably at it."
"Why?" he asked confused.
Deciding the best thing she could do was be honest, she softly said, "Because we both know what this is, Dean, it's nothing but a one night stand." She couldn't help but feel a little disappointed at saying the words out loud, she wished it meant as much to him as it did to her.
"Is that what you want it to be?" he quietly asked. He was disappointed as well to hear her comment. To him, it was much more than a one night stand and he couldn't help but be bummed that it didn't mean more to her.
"It doesn't matter what I want it to be...it is what it is." She gave him a small shrug.
Leaning forward to grab her hand, he pulled her back onto the bed with him. Normally he wouldn't care what a girl thought or tried to get her to stay afterward- mostly because with those it was a one night stand to him, but Mackenzie was different, what he felt for her was deep and real.
"It matters to me; so tell me honestly, do you want this to be a one night stand?"
"No," she whispered.
He laid a hand on the side of her neck, lightly running his thumb against her cheek. "Good, 'cause it wasn't a one night stand to me either."
"Really?"
"Really." He leaned forward to softly kiss her lips. If his words didn't convince her, he hoped his actions would.
Leaning back on the bed, he pulled her with him, causing her to land on top of him. He ran a hand down her back, then heard her giggle when he lightly smacked her butt- after seeing it as soon as he woke up, he had been itching to touch it.
