Today's the day I've been in the car for at least 5 hours so far gosh this is boring
"Ruby are you alright sweetie?"
"Yeah this is just boring" that's my adopted mother Cara I guess you can say she's taken good care of me she's the only one who knows the truth about me but that's later for you too find out... I just feel like I'm gonna doze off for a moment
( 2 hours passed)
"Ruby wake up look at this town"
I awoke to Cara telling me to wake up we finally arrived to Wendy's bay haha reminds me of Wendy's actually, the town seemed like a really quiet town where secrets wouldn't last even a second before word spreads
" haha good one on keeping me safe Cara!"
"Come on Ruby please give this a chance we couldn't stay there anymore people were finding out but this town seems small but I promise nothing will happen here "
"Yeah yeah whatever"
I looked out the car window there was a diner which looked pretty alright everyone dressed in fancy clothing which seemed strange to me I mean I have a total different style to them
"Um do you hear that Ruby?"
In the distance I heard sirens I looked behind me there was a cop car behind us the officer was moving his hand like he wanted us to pullover
"Hey Cara I think he has a liking to you haha"
" oh be quiet Ruby haha"
Cara pulled over to the side of the road I watched as the police officer got out of the car and walked over to Cara's side of the car he was pointing at the window like he wanted her to open it
" Hello officer is there a problem ?"
" I just had to notice I've never seen you around town before are you new around here?"
" Haha yes you can say that i just moved here with my daughter Ruby"
" Welcome to Wendy's bay mam "
I had my head down I hated any type of contact with people i didn't know
" Ruby say hi please"
I decided to give it a try I looked up at the officer and he looked at me his smile on his face changed to a emotionless face , I hope he didn't notice anything
" Oh wow your eyes are weirdly a really dark green.."
"Uh yeah i guess you could say that.."
" um well thank you officer i think me and my daughter should be on our ways"
" oh you can call me Daniel mam"
" oh well have a good day Daniel"
Cara started the car and started to drive away with Daniel watching
" well that was close wasn't it Cara???"
" come on Ruby he didn't notice anything he complimented you at least"
" OH SO YOUR SAYING A OLD CREEP SAYING I HAVE WEIRD DARK GREEN EYES IS A COMPLIMENT"
"Ruby please don't yell at me we are nearly at our new home with a fresh new start please don't ruin it"
I felt so angry i wanted to rage but i Cara was right its a fresh new start
" And we are home Ruby!!!"
I looked out the window it was a old lake cabin, we lived in the middle of a forest the back yard leaded to the lake which looked creepy there was a boat just tied to the deck this place freaked me out but i loved it at the same time
" Omg Cara I LOVE IT I DIBS THE BIGGER ROOM"
" Haha your funny Ruby"
I grabbed my backpack and ran to the door of the house waiting for Cara to get out of the car and open the door
" I'm coming Ruby hold on"
Cara started walking with her suitcase she handed me the keys
" go explore the house Ruby i'm gonna go and get your suitcase"
