(The title involves custom punctuation. The location of your comma will determine your emotional position and sometimes even the quality of your current existence.)It is something we all experience. We either feel lonely or like we're alone. But don't those two mean the same? Well, at least that's what I thought. But I too discovered the difference only recently.
Apparently when we age, we also start understanding things better and that ultimately becomes the foundation for the term too common - "MATURITY". Still, even with a lot of experience and wisdom we'll never be 'mature enough' to accurately extrapolate things like complex human emotions.
Alone and Lonely, both being a sort of feeling you would feel are similar in nature, but the truth is that they differ by a huge magnitude.
While being 'alone' is defined as being without anyone, 'loneliness' is defined as feeling sad, unhappy and socially isolated , or at least that's what Google says!
In simple terms, what my still developing 17 year old brain has grasped is that loneliness can be deadly and has the capability to very well push one into the abyss of darkness, negativity and depression , eventually taking toll of a precious life whereas being alone is temporary, momentary and sometimes healthy.
It comes bringing with it the awareness related to the existence of loving people around us. It can make us grateful towards others. In a way, it helps people to detoxify themselves from their stressful lifestyles and provides space to sort themself out.
Introverts can find it very hard to distinguish these concepts as the area between pleasant self company and soul crushing social isolation seems majorly gray. The dichotomy of such a situation is something only they'll be able to understand.
But in all honesty, being alone makes us value our company and ourselves along with others. And finally the time will arrive when happiness gains priority among success, progress, and other vector rubbishes.
An anonymous genius has aptly said - "An empty mind is a devil's workplace". And loneliness as an emotion or rather a disorder precisely exemplifies it. It is when we ourselves play the devil and let negativity get to us. So, truthfully the choice is in our hands - whether to feel lonely, isolated and sad or be alone but in pursuit of happiness.
Just remember,
Don't just smile & laugh all your life,
Make sure to cry loads too!
Just the heft of the happy tears you shed,
Must outweigh the sad tears that turned you blue.~~~~~~~

On a totally deviated note - How u doin?
P.S: Love to all.Peace
