At the speed of life

So, the other day I sat in solidarity at my desk and experienced a moment of epiphany. 'Life is so short!!' We all have heard this phrase at some point in our life. But in that moment I had truly begun to understand its meaning.

It feels like just yesterday I was dreading my school life and today I know it's where I've created uncountable memories which I will cherish for a lifetime.

In this weird world, where everything seems like a race only few have the honour of experiencing peace. With the invasion of competition and fierce negativity, our fast lives move at the speed of light. And that's why there are a lot of minute beautiful things we tend to miss.

But why is it that we realise it only after the moment has passed? It's somewhat frustrating to be honest.

Everytime something glum happens it feels almost instinctive to us to play the blame game. But what we forget is how crucial OUR actions are in this world.

There is always something we can do or say or even write to make things better. Even when there's complete darkness, light can be found and even when all the doors seem shut there are perhaps windows left to open.

What I'm trying to say is, there is always a way. A way to fight problems. A way to cross difficult times. A way to spread love and light.

We lose people everyday. Sometimes we don't know them, sometimes they are too close to let go. It's only these instances that bring our lives to a grieving halt, where undone actions and unsaid words haunt us to our heart's deepest crevices. Sadly, it's only then we rethink our choices and decisions.

That's why we should actually do things when we get the chance to do them. We should make ourselves useful. No human is useless, (atleast that's what I say to myself). We all have something unique to give to this world. Some know how, and some don't that's the only difference.

So let's seize the moment and exercise carpe diem at its finest. Let's do what we can for the people we love and for humanity. Afterall, it's that little extra which makes the ordinary so special.

Live like it's your last day, because it might just be. Dream and smile and love and shine. Do all the things that must be done, for we all have this giant show to run. For all you know, tomorrow there might be an alien invasion, a natural disaster or a meteor shower or maybe even a... pandemic?!

And so let's take a moment and live life at the speed of life.
