Dianna barely came to visit all week. I was really starting to get mopy about her absence. Perhaps she realised what a big mistake the kiss was and decided to ignore me. Tessa texted me every day, which was nice. She really seemed to care. She was nice.

She's not Dianna.

No.

So?

Dianna is my friend's mom. It will never work.

Never say never.

"Hey baby girl." I heard the familiar voice that gave me butterflies.

"Hey." I greeted in a monotone.

"What's wrong?" She came to sit by my bedside.

"Nothing, I guess." I turned my face away from her. She kept quiet for a while and perhaps realised the reason for my childish behaviour.

"I know I wasn't around much this week... I had a big case. My case..." She took my face gently in her one hand and turned it towards her. "I'm sorry."

My eyes lightened a little. I wanted to know more about the case, but I also needed to be stubborn. I just kept quiet.

"I won... Which means I took the week off." She rested her hand on my stomach. I was sure she would be able to feel the butterflies in my stomach. I couldn't help but give a huge grin. "That makes you happy?" She gave my stomach a little squeeze to get a reaction out of me. I flinched from the pain and she immediately retracted, forgetting all about my ribs.

"Yes it makes me happy. More than you know."

"Good."

We sat in silence for a few moments until I broke the silence.

"I thought you needed to get your head straight."

"I did... I do. Baby girl, you don't understand." She was getting fidgety again and wanted to get up.

"Don't leave please."

She sat reluctantly and sighed.

"You kissed me." I decided to be blunt about it. Her eyes widened a little and she was struck with silence. Did I just mute Ms Lawyer? Was that even possible.

"I didn't think you remembered. You were heavily dosed." She finally stated after a while of thinking.

"Well I remember. It's all I think about."

She sighed again and shifted in her chair.

"What is it? Why are you so distant and uncomfortable all of a sudden?" I was getting frustrated with her. Just spill already. Tell me. Tell me you like me. Tell me it was an accident. Anything. Just don't give me silence. I hate silence.

"Baby girl... I am infatuated. This is beyond anything I've ever felt before." She ran her fingers through her hair and frowned. She sighed again and got up from her chair. "At first I was just flirting and fooling around." She started pacing the room like a typical lawyer. My breathing was getting heavier and my heart monitor picking up drastically. She started speaking again.

"You are amazing. Everything about you attracts me to you completely. I'm 34 years old and I can't control myself around you. This is madness. That's why I said I need to get my head straight."

"Dianna..."

"I don't even know what you must think of me. You must think I'm some kind of old perve." She just kept pacing the floor. I pulled myself up and got out of bed. I had been walking around nearly three times a day to keep from getting bed sores. She didn't even notice me get up.

"From the moment you stepped into my house, I couldn't keep my eyes off you. You mesmerised me totally with your green eyes and playful smile. I had to have you. I needed..."

"Dianna shut up." I cut her off as I put both my hands around her neck and pulled her into a kiss. "You talk way too much lawyer." I mouthed against her lips and continued the kiss. Her soft, tender lips folding into mine. I could feel her gasp almost as a relief and push even more into me. Her hands cupped my face and her kisses became more frantic. I felt wetness on her cheek and saw a tear rolling down her face.

"Why are you crying?"

"I'm just so fucking overjoyed right now." She kissed me on the forehead and gave me a gentle hug, not to hurt me.

"Am I interrupting something?" Both of us spun around to see Tessa standing in the door.
