Why must God hate me? News on the street; or school halls? Mario Ramirez is working hard on making Rose Evans fall in love with him.

I mean I know I have no chance with her, but you know it still hurts a little too much. Seeing as I've had a major crush on this girl since 8th grade.

"Ugh just look at her. And then Him. It just doesn't add up" I groan as I gently bang my head on my locker.

"I mean it's your fault you won't go talk to her," He laughs as he pats my shoulder. "She might even like you back. Just a possibility." He urges and looks me in the eyes.

My cheeks go a light shade of pink thinking of that chance. No it's not possible, I'm not good enough at all. She is so perfect, and I'm so meh.

"I highly doubt that dude, she's straight as a pole." I pout and glance at the beautiful blue eyed girl walking down the hallway. "Like I said. You won't know until you try," He sighs again. "Anyways! Are you going to Brad's party next Saturday?" He asks excitedly.

"Yea! I think so. I'm not busy or anything. I just have to get passed Victoria the devil." I growl out the last part. "Bro you gotta make it! I heard Rose was gonna be there." He raises his eyebrows up and down and giggles.

The bell rings and I roll my eyes at his comment. My first class is Chemistry and Luke's is English 11. Which by the way, are in completely opposite directions.

"Well we better head out before we get tardy, again." I snicker and wave to my blue eyed friend. He waves and laughs as he walks away.

I shake my head in amusement as I start towards Mr. Romero's class room. The only class I have with that beautiful girl. Rose.

Upon entering I notice everyone is standing up against the back wall, waiting for something, I assume.

"Hey, What's going on?" I ask one of the other students, Henry. "Um, Mr.Romero is um assigning new seats." He says nervously as he rubs the back of his head.

Oh great! I have the chance of getting paired with Mario or Rose for the rest of the year. That's just great. If I get paired with Rose, Mario will be so pissed. If I get paired with Mario he will make my life a living hell. And if they get paired that will just be living hell.

I groan out load and facepalm thinking of all the possibilities. I look over and see Harper and Rose talking while Mario tries to butt in. How pathetic. I furrow my eyebrows and huff.

Mr. Romero finally walks in with a board in his hands. "Listen up class! We have a new seating chart and this will be the last place you move for the rest of the year." He explains. And everyone groans.

He starts calling out names and I block out the noise until I hear my name. "Ava Smith! Right here." I adjust my backpack and walk over. "Rose, you will be Ava's partner for the rest of the year!" He chirps. Suddenly the air around me becomes thick and I struggle to think.

Wait!! What!? Oh dear God! This has to be a dream. I pinch myself hoping to wake up, but to my luck I yelp in pain.  Oh god! Oh god! What do I do? I have never even talked to her and I've liked her for literally 3 years.

I put my head in my hands and look straight forward as I hear shuffling right next to me. She's only 3 or so inches away. I glance over and see those beautiful blue eyes, and a gorgeous smile forming on those plump lips. I swear I feel like my body is going to give out right here in my seat.

"Hey, I'm Rose" She says and giggles as my cheeks go a deep shade of red. "Uh I eh huh?" I mumble out and If it's possible my cheeks get hotter and I look everywhere but her eyes.

She giggles and her cheeks go a light pink. "Ava, right?" She asks softly. I nod my head knowing if I say anything my words will betray me.

"Well nice to officially meet you!" She grins and stretches her hand out for a handshake.

I hesitate before I grab her hand, suddenly I'm engulfed in heat and a jolt of electricity shoots up my arm.
I look up and notice that her eyebrows knit together and her eyes widened.

There is no way she felt the same thing...Right? "Y-yea nice to uh meet you t-too." I give her a small smile as I feel my cheeks heat up. I look down and notice our hands are still connected and I pull away like I was touching something I shouldn't have.

My cheeks burn a deeper red and I look away to hide the evidence. As I turn around I notice Mario giving me a death glare from across the room.

Shit! He's going to fucking end me now. I better tell Lucas as soon as possible. I internally cringe at the thought of what he plans on doing with me.

I look forward and finally pay attention to Mr.Romero. He's saying something about Ions? Ion bonds? Oh right! Ionic bonds..duh. I quietly giggly at my own thoughts.

"Well class! As you know the people you are sitting next to will be your partners for the rest of the year," He says as he paces around the room. "We are starting a project over the periodic table, for this project you will be assigned with you partner to create a periodic table of your own. It doesn't matter what it is, as long as the columns, and rows, groups and so forth make sense." He states as he puts examples on the board. "You will have 1 week to finish and I expect you to take time out of your life, communicate, participate, find things out about each other's life's as well as understand the whole concept of the periodic table. Understood?" He exclaims and looks up at us.

A few people groan, others cheer due to being partnered with their friends. But me, I slam my head against the desk a little to hard. I yelp in pain and cradle my nose as I pout.

"Oh my gosh! Are you okay?" I hear an angelic voice ask laced with concern. I feel soft hands grab my chin and rotate my face towards the owner.

My cheeks go pink as I recognize those beautiful eyes. "Uh yea it just hurts a little." I say shakily. "That was quite a hit, are you sure your okay?" She coos as she rubs my nose softly.

"Heh-uh huh" I mumble as I feel my face get hotter at the sudden contact. That's when I notice how close she got, if I leaned in 1 inch her lips would be on mine.

"Ms. Evans! Ms.Smith! Care to share to the class what is more important than the periodic table?" Mr.Romero states in a low grumble.

Rose pulls her hands away as her cheeks go a deep red. I pout at the loss of contact and turn towards the class. "Uh no sir, Ava here just hurt her nose a bit. I was making sure she was alright." She says as she stares at the front of the class.

"Alright, next time I won't be so easy on you two." He says and he continues to talk about who knows what.

I look around the classroom and notice Harper Montoya, Rose' best friend smirking at our table. I look down quickly and feel my face heat up again.

Suddenly there is a small piece of paper slid my way, but before I could open it the bell rings, signaling our next class.

I put my back pack on my shoulders and adjust my clothes as I head out of the classroom. As I'm walking out I trip over no other than Mario's leg.

What a stupid asshole. I roll my eyes and walk out, opening the piece of paper. "Now that we are partners, you might need my number, (879)-432-1675 Text me a date you think we can work on the dumb project -Rose <3
