T'Challa laid prostate on the ground, beaten severely with bruises and blood all over as proof of killmonger's crime, the panther suit he wore had been severely damaged by knife cuts and several blows. The sight was horrific, sickening and mostly enraging. Seeing that man laugh maniacally while T'Challa was being removed from the battlefield and while his sister and his mother cried was what pushed T'Kira's decision.

"I challenge for the right to become black panther through ritual combat!" He declared.

Everyone looked at him in shock, moon knight and doctor voodoo took that chance to flee with T'Challa's body. Shuri looked to her twin. The anger and fire in his eyes had burst into an overwhelming presence. "T'Kira...No. Don't do this!" Shuri pleaded.

"I must Shuri, I cannot allow this man to harm T'Challa and get away with it, I can't allow it." T'Kira then looked to killmonger. "Do you accept killmonger?"

The man smiled wickedly. "The Prince wants to be a man well then let the prince meet a man's end. I accept."

"Good." T'Kira deactivated his suit and reconfigured it into a black shirt and sweat pants.

"Two princes in one day, maybe I shall claim the princess as my wife after this is finished."

T'Kira scowled and got into a panther stance while killmonger proceeded to move into his own battle stance. The two stood still as they locked gazes. None of them flinched, not one of them tore their eyes away from each other. Killmonger was the first to break, charging after T'Kira to strike him with a palm. T'Kira dodged and aimed a swift kick to his cranium but to no avail killmonger blocked the attack. Erik used the opening to strike T'Kira's chest with both of his palms and sent him flying across the field. T'Kira leaned off the floor on his elbows, his chest hurt, the pain throbbed as he struggled to stand again. Erik rushed in again ready to deliver an axe kick to the Prince's skull but T'Kira's instincts kicked in. "I summon forth the shielding powers of the Vishanti." A force field deflected killmonger's attack and knocked Killmonger backwards as T'Kira got to his feet.

"Cheater!" You have used magic in sacred combat!" Killmonger exclaimed.

"Magic is allowed killmonger, there is nothing in wakanda's law that states a challenger is not allowed to use magic." Shuri argued.

The dreaded man scowled." Fine if he wishes to use magic then he may, after I have defeated him, I will burn him to the stake like the witch he is!" Killmonger charged again.

Everything strange taught him seemed to take hold of his mind. "I summon the Seven Rings of Raggadorr." Magical force fields blocked killmonger's incoming attacks as T'Kira devised a plan. It then occurred to him what needed to be done. It was a spell strange had taught him, one he was only to use under extreme circumstances due to the costs of the spell. This was an extreme circumstance and he was certain the cost wouldn't matter now.

The shields started to crack under the pounding pressure of Erik's fist and T'Kira began to recite the spell. "I call upon the power of the eye of agamotto..." A replica of the eye appeared before him. Killmonger pounded on his shields furiously as T'Kira continued. "...I call upon the powers of the Vishanti, the power of bast, the powers of wakanda and the spirits within her..." Killmonger soon started shattering the shields one by one. " I call for divine punishment upon the accused-" Killmonger shattered the final shield and reached for T'Kira's neck and began to choke him. The prince struggled to free himself from the sinister man's constricting hold. He felt the oxygen leave him with every struggle for freedom. He pounded and kicked where he could then stopped, he tapped his shirt and it transformed into a claw. He quickly slashed at N'Jadaka but the man gripped his hand. T'Kira clenched his fist and the nanites quickly transferred to his other hand, he slashed again at the hand Erik held him with and managed to leave a deep wound. The pain caused Killmonger to relinquish his hold over T'Kira allowing the sorcerer to fall into the shallow pool below him coughing, trying to regain his lost breath.

Erik turned to T'Kira again with animalistic rage in his eyes only for them to be softened with the expression of mind shattering defeat at the realization that T'Kira finished his spell with one word.

"N'Jadaka."

A beam of white energy descended upon the man as he screamed and writhed in pain. Everything bit of N'Jadaka was aching in pain as the flames engulfed him but somehow he managed to push past the pain and attempted to reach for T'Kira.

"The crimson bands of cyttorak bind you N'Jadaka!" T'Kira proclaimed and crimson bands of energy formed beneath the man's feet before tethering him to the ground. Warrior falls knew the echoing screams of N'Jadaka that day and they were a retribution to the young Sorcerer who stood before him. A few minutes later the screaming stopped as the beams of energy ceased and the man collapsed onto the ground. The crowd around them stood silent and T'Kira smiled before he saw nothing but black overtake his vision and realised he was falling.

The man opened his eyes and saw the panther goddess bast before him.

"Prince T'Kira, son of King T'Chaka, you have fought in ritual combat and have succeeded in defeating N'Jadaka but I ask, why?"

T'Kira looked at the goddess and paused before he spoke. "Mother-Goddess Bast, I fought to claim retribution for killmonger's discretions against the crown and my family and to prevent him from ruling Wakanda under tyranny and dictatorship." T'Kira answered.

"Is that the truth?" The goddess asked.

"I also fought to slay the monster that harmed my brother." T'Kira added.

The panther goddess remained silent for a while before speaking. "I have read your soul and I see no lies in your answer, I shall allow you to become black panther and you shall be freed of the cost of your spell" The Goddess decreed as she turned to walk away.

"Mother-Goddess." T'Kira called.

"Yes king?" The panther goddess turned her attention to T'Kira.

"My brother...I ask that you heal him please, my family is not yet ready to be without him... wakanda is not yet ready to be without him... I'm not ready."

Bast looked to him and nodded. "He shall live king of wakanda."

With those words, T'Kira awoke to find himself held by a sobbing Shuri. "Your tears...taste like salt." T'Kira joked. Shuri smiled and her smile widened as she pulled her twin in for a tight hug. She soon helped her brother up to his feet and the crowd cheered.

An elder stepped forth and spoke. "Prince T'Kira, son of King T'Chaka, I now declare you king of wakanda!" The elder proclaimed.

T'Kira smiled.

A few weeks later moon knight and doctor voodoo updated T'Kira on T'Challa's recovery and the royal family rejoiced within the throne room, sending praises to bast and the orisha. Shuri, Hunter and his mother, Ramonda were by his side as he sat at the throne, adorning the black panther suit. "Glory to bast." He praised.
