Dear society,
Stop trying to get me to fit in to the hole you cut out for me,
I clearly do not fit your standards.
Do not force me to play your games,
I no longer have the will to play.
I tried so hard to remain exactly as you wanted me,
What more do you need?
My life? My soul? My eternal happiness?
I've got nothing left to give to you America,
and even so, you are not getting any more of me.
All my life, you made me feel small,
So insignificant, so minuscule,
So that you could no longer see me.
I do not fit in the society that you have made for me,
I am not the conventional one,
Willing to step out of my shadow.
You made me nervous and scared,
You made a young woman so dejected that she cuts herself off from those who care about her.
You made me feel like nothing I could do would make people happy.
Fuck you.
I am no longer focused on making others happy,
I'm focused on my own happiness.
I no longer want to fit into your society.
So just leave me be.
