The drive to school

As Jacob got in the back I was about to get in the front when my mother nudged me and did her little head thing reminding me of my father is here and to let him sit in the front. "Mom he's not coming, I'm fine to sit in the front." My mother gives me a look of disgrace "Lexi I'm not gonna have your father stay here alone please sit in the back" when she asks me to move I don't and my father walks out in a suit and with a brief case.. I wondered what was going on with him today. "June I've decided to take my flight back to Madagascar today I'm going to send you the info on the..." He looks in the back where Jacob is sitting. Jacob has a way of making it look like he's not listening when he is and I'm the only one that knows about it, he's doing it right now so if my father says it Jacob is gonna know "plans for this summer please keep yourself updated." He walks away like he's mature when in reality he's just an old bitch of a man trying to get back in my life, but I have it locked for a reason.
Mother starts the car and starts driving as if dad wasn't here this morning.. She looks in the mirror to see what Jacob was doing. As he usually does on our car rides he's on his phone probably playing his selfie game with his friends on snapchat since he was making his weird faces. Mother smiles at him and glances over at me. I was reading my book 'pride and prejudice' for the third time.She's going to say something I can feel it about to come out of her mouth.
"You look very nice today Alexis, it's the usual but you make it look new every year." I didn't know what to say mainly I didn't know what she meant.. "Mom it's Lexi L-E-X-I, Lexi not Alexis and I'm not sure if that's a compliment or you trying to be nice to me since he came and you didn't tell me, but thank you." I felt like I had just back talked to her and she was ready to yell at me in front of Jacob but I know she wouldn't ever do that since Jacob has had a rough time since the dick of a father had left us. Jacob doesn't know what happened between my mother my father and I but he deserves to be involved yet he isn't so we try and keep him happy. "Okay, Lexi you look nice today just take it as a compliment and please don't back talk me." My mother must be on her period or something because she's never this much of a bitch to me in front of Jacob..
As we arrive at school Jacob gets out of the car but doesn't shut the door right away "bye mom I'll see you after school pick me up at 3:00 no later I have lacrosse so bring my stick bye love you!" He slams the door and runs like a donkey into the school. I sat there about to leave when mom grabbed my shoulder "Alexis Ann I will call you whatever I want I raised you and I understand your pissed because I didn't tell you he was coming!! I couldn't because I knew you would do this I didn't know why he wanted to come but I can't just not let you talk to him so you better perk up your attitude because you're going to that fucking wedding and you aren't gonna tell your brother do you understand me?" This is it, this is where she yells at me but not in front of Jacob I had to talk back I couldn't keep it in.. "I shut him out for a reason and I don't know if your in drugs or don't remember why we brought him to court and won or what but if I go to that god damn wedding I expect something out of it!!!!!" I got out and slammed the door as she rolled down the window "we will talk when you get home from school I'll pick you up when I pick up Jacob.."
I'm in junior high and for us it's grade 6-10 so it's my last year and I don't see why she wants to talk to me about it it's the truth I shut up him out and it's gonna stay that way.
