"mom i'm home" zach calls through the house. the boy worked a tight schedule. his mom was a drunk and his dad was always out of the house. zach got home at two, stayed home for three hours to get homework done, then went to work. he had a work schedule from six to two in the morning. he went to bed at three and work up at seven. eat, school, work, sleep, repeat.

he was struggling but he made it work. today was different though, everything was about to fall apart. zach was already sad, considering his boyfriend broke up with him last week. his mom didn't know about his boyfriend, or so he thought. "hello zachary" his mother says in a taunting way.

zach brushes it off and goes to walk to his room. him mom quickly stops him with a slap on the face. zach winces in pain as he feels the spot burn. "what the heck mom?" "you didn't seem to mention your relationship with connor to me." zach eyes widen as his mom says the name of his ex. "how did you find out?" zachs mom laughs and turns to look at the boy.

"you're disgusting, you know that?" "mom, please don't say that." zach legs tremble as his mom gets closer to him. "i want you out of this house. i can't have a nasty whore like you rubbing off on my kids." a couple of tears quickly fall from zachs eyes. "w-where do i go?" "anywhere, i don't care."

zach lets out a small sob and meets eyes with his mom. "please tell me you don't mean this." zachs mom spits in his face and walks away. zach runs upstairs and lets the tears fall as he grabs two suitcases and a backpack. he packs all his clothing and everything else. he didn't have a lot considering the lack of money. while he packed, he continued to sob. he had just lost everyone who cared about him and he may never see reese or ryan again.

zach grabbed all his stuff and put the backpack on. he walks to the front door and his mom is holding his keys. "i don't ever want you back here, understand?" zach nods his head as more tears pour down his face. he goes to hug his mom but she pushes him away forcefully. "please mom i- please" zach sobbed. "get the hell out of my house you fucking fag" she yells. zach lets out a final sob before leaving the house.

he throws the suitcases in his backseat and gets into the front. he sits there for a second and slams his hand against the steering wheel. everything was gone and he still had work.

zach arrived at the coffee shop and immediately put on his apron, it was friday night so he didn't have anywhere to be in specific. his other co-worker had just check out before him leaving zach alone to tend to the small shop. he started to brew the first batch of coffee for the night and he took out his homework.

he felt so dazed by everything, considering his mom kicked him out. he stared at the math problem for a second until a teardrop was spread on the paper. zach quickly wiped his face and decided to grab himself a coffee. it was going to be a long night.

there were only about three people who came in during zachs shift. he was about to do a final clean until he got a phone call. it was from his manager. zach gulped quietly and picked up the phone. "hello?" "hi zach, i need to tell you something." "yes." "we are going to have to let you go. we found another candidate who is perfect for the job but he can only work your hours. we don't want you to get in any trouble with him, if you know what i mean."

zach stared at the phone for a second, getting ready to break. "that's ok. i will finish my shift and go." he hung up the phone and took a sharp inhale. tears began to flood his cheeks. there goes his only source of income. everything was falling apart and zach was just watching it.
