1.3 My Villainous Best Friend

Just like that, Maria and Valerie immediately clicked.

Everybody in the school were puzzled of why anybody would want to be friends with the most aggressive girl in the school who always cause problems? Lately, Maria has been weirdly chill these days. She hadn't got herself in any arguments or physical fights in a while. It's completely shocking but her bad attitude and behavior is still there when talking to another person.

When she's with Valerie it was different. The way she talks to her is calmer and settling. Previously her words were harsh when talking to Valerie but later it became much sweeter and softer since Valerie never come across feeling insulted by Maria before. She only spoke to her as if Maria was only trying to make a conversation no matter what tone it comes off.

Many students would approach Valerie by saying that she shouldn't hang out with somebody like Maria. In response, Valerie said that Maria is actually a nice person if they get to know her better. Others were in utter shock – who has time to get to know that bitch?! People thought Valerie was actually a weirdo yet they said nothing since she was also nice to everybody else too. She treated everybody the same way. She was nowhere to judge somebody until she gets to know them. That's how it's always been. This is the reason why the system chose her.

"Everybody is always on my ass." Maria said while stabbing her fork several times in her small mix fruit bowl.

"Why is that?" Valerie asked.

She slides the chip bag towards Maria to share with as she continues to talk.

"The teachers complained of me disturbing the class. Like what did I do? They assume I was talking but I don't even talk to anybody in this school besides you. Some more people want to talk shit behind my back and when I got up to their face, they want to keep quiet about it. They got scared but then continue to talk while I'm not around them again." Maria complains.

Valerie put on a worry expression while patting Maria's back.

"You remember what I told you? Don't bother with those type of people. They can waste their breath on you all they want. You don't need to waste yours on them. They're not worth the air that we breathe in. It'll only be a waste of our oxygen." Valerie smiles then giggles at her own statement.

"Yeah, I know. It's just hard sometimes. They still piss me off." Maria grabs a whole handful of chips, munching in frustration.

"You can be mad about it but they're not something to spare your energy with." Valerie said.

Maria just rolls her eyes, knowing how Valerie is. It was obvious that the girl didn't want her to get in a fight but she wasn't wrong either.

"You guys left me alone in the hallway. I was waiting for you guys but you guys decided to eat without me."

A familiar enchanting deep voice was heard coming towards their lunch table in the corner of the cafeteria. It's another friend they made in their English class named "Anthony Demir". He was quite tall at the height of 6'1" and his blonde hair was slicked back. He's quite known in the entertainment industry as a model.

Why are the all the people she met were all so good looking in this world?

On the first day of school, Anthony came in late for English class while the tables were all filled up except for Maria's and Valerie's. At first he didn't take any interest in the two not wanting to both with people he didn't care for but Valerie was the one who spoke up to him first which lead him to talking to them. Valerie didn't want to leave him out of the conversation, using a few words to get his attention. It leads him to talk more with them and slowly he created a close bond with them.

"You're here now." Maria said. Seeing his appearance, she didn't hide the disgust on her face. It's evident that these two fight like cats and dogs.

"Ouch." While pretending to hold onto his chest in pain. Maria instead threw the chip to his face.

"Just sit your ass down." She said to him and by her command he sat next to her. "No, over there, idiot!"

Valerie watches the two with deep interest. Anthony of course enjoys teasing Maria because he finds her reaction funny and enjoyable. He knew of her reputation before but now that he gotten to know her personally, she's alright after all.

With these three group of friends, people wonder how could three people of different personalities and outlook get together so perfectly? After a while people even attempted to try to get to know Maria again. In the end, it's a failure. Maria didn't like how others were now trying to act friendly with her even when they're eyes show of desperation and worst scenario they even try to pretend to act tough to gain her attention. Nothing but a bunch of posers.

After their last year of gaining Maria's friendship and trust, Valeria never have felt accomplished in her life, well beside graduating high school. Now they were even considered as best friends. It was coming straight out of Maria's mouth when confessing her feelings about how much she appreciates having a friend like Valerie. Even after graduating, Maria wanted to go to the same university as Valerie's choice but worried couldn't due to her family wanting her to go to the best of the best. It was no problem for Valerie since she told Maria she will also be signing up for the same university. Anthony didn't know which university to go to either, so he decided to pick the same one as them.

Of course, Maria made it through. In the power of the system, Valerie also made it and so did Anthony since those three were always together. Making it easier for them for any future consequences. The only thing that would separate them is the major they were taking. Maria chosen to take business and entrepreneurship, Valerie is finally getting in to fashion management, and Anthony didn't know what he wanted to do. In the end, Valerie told him to take the same major as Maria and he agreed to it. Even though he wasn't into business and work as a model, he just decides what he can make out of it.

Now that she has them majoring in the same department, those two can grow a deeper bond and Valerie doesn't have to see Maria fall for a guy in the female lead's harem. Anthony can protect Maria while Valerie isn't around.

Sooner or later, the storm ahead of her isn't going to end that easily.
