Chapter 10

The night before I had written in my journal and fell asleep after giving more magic to the being, it was a bit stranger than usual. Instead of grabbing me like it usually did it was able to move more and pull me into a full-on hug. It had clutched me in its arms and while it felt cold I was comfortable and I almost felt like it was my job now to warm the creature.

When I had woken up it was rather slow vs. my usual quick start to the day. It was weird and it made me uncomfortable, after all of that instinct to be up and ready right away with the Dursley's.

It was nice to know that I unconsciously felt safe enough here but I hoped that my body wouldn't get used to it considering that I had to be back with the Dursley's during the summer.

I looked around noticing that I had awoken before the others, "Tempus." I muttered quietly and saw that it was around 5 in the morning, breakfast started at 7:30.

I sighed in frustration, it would be two hours and a half before breakfast starts and classes started at 9. Maybe I could start exercising in the mornings, it would keep me healthy and let me get exercise since Dudley isn't here to chase me around at the moment.

Going through my clothes I tried to find something suitable to go running in, there was one of Dudley's tank tops and shorts (never now when somethings will come in handy), which I shrank down to size.

Walking down the stairs I noticed nobody was awake and I made my way into the halls and outside the castle. It was quite nice out, the soft morning breeze and the sun peeking over the forest shining onto the lake.

The eerieness I had felt that night now gone but that bizarre feeling still remained.

While running I looked around, I saw a few Greenhouses and a couple of pathways into the Forbidden Forest which I was almost tempted to enter and by the time I was back it was near 6, they were probably going to wake up any minute and I wanted to take a shower alone. I hated community showers, especially when you have the scars I do.

I had swiftly grabbed my things being as quiet as possible before heading to the bathroom, taking off the sweaty clothing I put it down next to the school uniform (which now had the house colors and emblem) and brought the things I had stolen from Petunia into the bathroom with me. It was hard to ignore the scars on my skin, a lot of them were from Dudley and Vernon though I am ashamed to say some were from self-harm. I don't cut, what would I cut with? Honestly, it's just a nervous tick I have. I'll sometimes unconsciously dig my nails into my skin until it breaks and sometimes it can get bad enough to scar.

I hated myself for it but I never did it on purpose.

Sometimes, maybe.

Just another thing that made me a freak...

I shook my head from that line of thought before grabbing a towel from a shelf, I saw a laundry basket with my name on it so I guessed that's for the house elves to know what dirty clothes are who's and who to return them to.

After drying I put on my uniform grabbed my dirty clothes and went back to my room where put them into my laundry basket.

I grabbed a book bag I had stolen from Dudley and started putting in books I thought I would need that day. I had used it to practice charms like the featherlight charm and the expansion charm on it so it should be fine.

Inside I had my 1st-year history, charms, transfiguration, herbology, DADA, Astronomy, and potions inside as I didn't know what classes I would have today and I didn't feel like coming back down to the dungeons to get my things once I had my schedule. I sat there with my journal in hand reading some notes I had put down, tips I wrote from reading Hogwarts a History as well as books made for Muggleborns, though I wasn't one I would need the information.
