Doctor

Jenny's POV
"Doc? How's my daughter?" Mr. Evans immediately rushed and asked me.
"The surgery went well Mr. Evans; your daughter is now safe. We have stopped the bleeding in her liver, the swelling is subsiding already. So, you don't have to worry anymore." I explained
"Thank God! Thank you very much Doctor Reyes!" He let out a deep breath, letting go all the worries he had kept since the first minute her daughter was rushed in the hospital emergency room.
"You don't need to thank me Mr. Evans, it is my job. And your daughter is a strong girl, she will be in the recovery room any minute now. One of our nurse will come to assist her and explain to you other details you need to know regarding her recovery. I'll check her again from time to time for her fast recovery." I smiled at him and bid him goodbye.
I left and went back to my office to relax and have some coffee. This day was exhausting! I keep on ranting in my head how tired i am, suddenly a knock on my door stopped me on my thoughts.
"Come in!" I yelled
"How are you baby girl? How is emergency room treating you for the past month?" Eunice asked me while coming inside my office with a grin on her face. Obviously teasing me.
"Oh! Everything is fine!" I answered sarcastically
"Haha! Jenny girl, chill ka lang. Nababawasan ang ganda mo. By the way congrats! I heard all your surgeries went well, for the past month."
"Hah! Chilling is not allowed when your assigned in the emergency room. Kaya minsan naiinggit na ako sayo. Kasi sa department niyo pwede ang mag chill, bukod sa marami kayong doctor, madaling din ang patients niyo." Sagot ko sakanya. She is from dentistry department.
"Ouch very ouch! Nagpunta ako dito para icongratulate ka. Tapos gaganyanin mo lang ako" Sagot niya.
"I was just telling the truth" I answered
"Oh well, we need to celebrate, even though it's late na since na promote ka last month pa. Masyado ka kasing naging bush."
"I still need to ch-" she cut my excuse short knowing tatanggi ako sa apol niya.
"No buts baby girl, we're celebrating your promotion and your birthday. It's your birthday tomorrow and I know it's your day off. Kaya I requested day off tomorrow also. And I booked hotel and spa for us to relax." She said too cheerfully for my liking.
Knowing my defeat. I did not argue anymore. I just sat there listening to all her stories until I received a call from the emergency room.
