The girls quietly returned to their dorm room, trying to process all that had just happened. Changing from their soaking wet clothes they sat in silence, not knowing what to make of it all. After all, it's not exactly commonplace to have wings or powers. Well, if that's even what it was.

"So...you and Rory? Faith asked lightheartedly, trying to ease the tension.

"Stop it. It's not like that" Amber responded hotly, lightly shoving her.

"Don't think I don't see you two" Faith teased, raising an eyebrow.

"I don't like him, I swear. I don't even know him!" She exclaimed, crossing her arms, a slight blush rising on her cheeks. Turning slightly away from Faith, she allowed herself to briefly entertain the idea. Shaking her head, she pulled herself back to reality.

"Whatever you say. But I don't think you were the only one" Faith laughed, considering the other events of the day. Who knew the first day of classes would be such a rollercoaster of emotions?

"Okay, enough" Amber smirked, "What about you? Surely there's someone who's caught your eye?"

"No! It's only been a day Amber" Faith exclaimed, "Besides, we've hardly met anyone..." She said trailing off, a slight sparkle in her eyes.

"I know that look." Amber laughed, raising an eyebrow. "Who's the guy?"

"It's nothing I promise. Well, I don't know. We've only just gotten here." Faith rambled, running her fingers through her hair. Amber paused, thinking carefully. They were clearly still new, that much was true. Who had they met today?

"Oh! I know who it is." She smirked. "Prince charming perhaps?"

"Amber!" Faith sighed, flopping onto her bed. "I'm sure it was nothing. He probably just didn't want to deal with first day drama".

"Oh yeah sure. Cause I totally step into fights for random people I don't know" Amber teased, sitting down next to her.

"Isn't that exactly what you did?" Faith teased, recalling how they had gotten into the scuffle to begin with.

"Hey! That was totally diff...well...you make a good point" Amber smiled, rolling her eyes. "But that was different! He looked at you differently."

"Oh please, you and I both know that never happens" Faith laughed, "Guys like him don't notice girls like me. It's just how it is."

"But you'll at least admit he's cute?" Amber pushed, a goofy smile on her face.

"Ugh, yes..." Faith mumbled, throwing a pillow over her head. Peaking out slightly, she teased "But you know, his friend was definitely looking at you."

"I don't even know his name"

"We'll see." The girls sat in silence for a few moments as the conversation died down. They couldn't avoid it forever, the curiosity continued to build, twinged with just a speck of fear. Well, maybe a bit more than a speck.

With a quick glance at Faith, Amber broke the silence, asking the question they had both been wondering, "So...about the hallway. Weird huh?" As she hopped off the bed, the letter that had been sitting on the desk fluttered to the ground, pulling their attention with it.

"Oh right. If we're going to go we need to go now. The letter said to meet them after class right?"

Amber nodded. "Let's do it."

They slipped on our jumpers and stepped out into the chilly air of London. The coffee house was only a block away from their school campus, and in less than 10 minutes they were approaching the small shop. As they stepped inside the building, the familiar scent of coffee and baked goods reminded them of a coffee shop back home.
