Liz and Cameron ran out of the dog park, just as an ear-splitting howl arose from inside. A stranger walking by stopped and stared at them disapprovingly.
"Don't you listen to the radio? Don't you read the signs?" The man pointed to a sign on a tree that read: DO NOT ENTER THE DOG PARK. Cameron looked at Liz and whispered,
"Told you." Liz rolled her eyes. The stranger kept talking about how it was extremely important to follow the rules, and blah blah blah. Liz looked up at the sky. A cloud? A giant, glowing, humming cloud? Yes, it was emitting a deep humming noise, and an occasional whistle. It gently swayed and changed colors. Liz nudged Cameron and pointed up. He gasped,
"Well, uh...we'll definitely never break the rules again, so uh, thanks?" Before the man could stop them, Liz and Cameron ran to the nearest building and ducked inside.

The nearest building happened to be Big Rico's. Liz and Cameron sat down at a table and listened to the radio that was blaring around the restaurant. The radio discussion was mostly about the glow cloud.
Liz and Cameron talked about other things, while the radio played in the background.

"...It has no need for thoughts or feelings of love..."

They ignored what was happening on the radio. They played stupid games that hadn't been played since kindergarten.

"...The glow cloud simply is..."

They waited for the downpour of small animals to stop. Yes, the cloud had started raining animals. Small, then increasingly larger...

"All hail the mighty glow cloud..."

They didn't hear the strange words coming from the radio.

"All hail..."

Music started playing. Music stopped playing. Liz and Cameron ate pizza. It was now quite dark out. The glow cloud had started floating away.

"Dear Listeners, here is a list of things. Emotions you don't understand upon viewing a sunset. Lost pets found. Lost pets unfound. A secret lost pet city on the moon. Tress that see. Restaurants that hear. A void that thinks. A face half seen before falling asleep. Trembling hands reaching for desperately needed items. Sandwiches. Silence when there should be noise. Noise when there should be silence. Nothing when you want something. Something when you thought there was nothing. Clear plastic binder sheets. Scented dryer sheets. Rain coming done in sheets. Night. Rest. Sleep. End. Goodnight, Listeners. Goodnight."

Cameron waved goodbye to Liz, and she waved back. Liz hummed to herself and walked home, with a spring in her step.
