"The reveal"

October 17th, 1992 9:47a.m

Selena's POV

Today is the day we find out the gender of our baby.

I get up from bed to see Chris still snoring, going to the bathroom I go and release my bladder first thing. I go to the mirror and see my baby boy or girl showing, while starring in awe Chris walks in and put's his hands on my stomach with a smile.

"I think it's a mini Selena" I chuckled a bit and looked at him through the mirror "I think it's a mini Chris" I said holding his hands on my stomach "We'll have to find out later today" He says kissing my head "I have to get ready, I think Sarah and Suzette are coming here to help decorate!" "Ok, I'm gonna go help A.B. with some things he needed" "Okay, see you later!" I pecked his lips.

After Chris left I got in the shower and got changed into a white blouse with mom jeans and my white sneakers. I went to the bathroom I did my makeup and left my hair straight since I don't have much time before Suzi and Sarah get here.

As I got done my phone started to ring, I assume it must be them. "Hello?" "SEL YOU ARE NOT GOING TO BELIEVE THIS!!" A.B. said, I was wrong. "What! What happened!?" "We finally got signed with EMI records!" "Are you for real!! This is so exciting A.B." "Yeah I just got done talking to José Behar" "Well that's good A.B. I'm so happy! Are you coming to the reveal?" "Of course Sel, what's the time though?" "5 o'clock!" "Alright see you then" "Okay bye!" I hang up the phone and just wonder how excited I am to be with EMI records it felt like forever, but my only problem is that I can't sing for a while until my baby's birth.

I sigh to myself and think how am I going to do this since I know how my dad is... After I give birth he wants me to get on that stage and tour around the world which I can't do that, I don't want my baby to go through that, I want them to live a normal life.

*knock* *knock*

I get up and open the door to see Suzette and Sarah hold a big box full of stuff. "This is just a party not a wedding!" I laughed as I moved from the door way to welcome them in "We just got whatever!" Suzette laughed while greeting me into a hug as well as Sarah "How have you been lately" "Well great! I've just been eating so much more than what I eat it's no joke!" Suzette laughed "At least you don't have to worry about a diet" Sarah said while laughing.

"So, what do you think it's going to be?" Suzette asked while taking out the decorations "Well I was thinking a boy!" "I would say I could be but you said you have been sick lately so I'd say girl" Sarah said while helping Suzi "I think girl to!" Suzette said "Now while we're decorating you can just chill out for the rest of this time and wait until we finish" Suzette said "Welp that's good for me then!" all three laughed "But I'm going to mom's and dad's if Chris comes just tell him I'm next door!" I said before walking out "Alright we'll surprise you then!"

4:43 p.m.

I helped my mom clean up as we were about to head out "Mom these look so good!" I said while looking at the cakes she had made "Selena you almost ate one of them" mom laughed "I can't help myself I'm eating for two right now!" Me and mom laughed as we got out and went to my house.

We walked into the backyard and saw that everything was decorated with blue and pink.

"SURPRISE SEL!!!" Suzette said as me and my placed the cakes on the table. "Oh mija this is beautiful I love it! I can't wait to find out!" My mom said hugging Suzette "This is so beautiful sister thank you so much!" "I knew you'd like it"

I went and sat down as we waited for a few people to come before we eat. "How's it going" Chris hugs me from behind "Good! Just so nervous I don't know why!" Chris laughs as he kisses me cheek "Don't be baby, there's nothing to worry about" "I love you" "I love you more"

6:07p.m.

It's finally time for the reveal!

"Let's get everyone's attention" Suzette said as everyone started to gather around. "Are we all ready!" Sarah said while handing me and Chris the confetti cannon "Alright everybody on three!" Suzette yelled "One! Two! Three! " everyone shouted.

*pop*

Everyone cheered as the confetti went everywhere. "IT'S A GIRL!!!" I shouted while tears of joy were streaming down my cheeks. I hugged Chris and kissed him "I told you we were having a mini Selena" Chris whispered in my ear.

10:37p.m.

It was time to clean up everything since it's getting late and I feel so tired since I hardly get much rest.

"Selena I'm so proud of you and Chris mija, you're going to have your own family!" my dad said as he came and hugged me "Thanks dad!" "Has A.B. told you about EMI records?" "Yeah he told me earlier, it was crazy to believe" "Yes it is!"

As everyone left I got changed into something comfortable, took off my makeup and layed down. "How are you feeling baby?" Chris asked as we were facing each other "I'm so happy Chris! I never knew that I'd be having my family as I wanted!" "That's how it is! Life is full of surprises!" I laughed "You know Chris, ever since we got married my life feels like it's been complete and especially now that we have our baby girl!" Chris started rubbing my stomach "I'm ready to see her and holding her in my arms!" I laughed.

"I love you baby" I pecked his lips "I love you more"
