A Glistening Soul In Our Midst
(Dedicated to Maryam-Al-S)
A/N: My friend asked me to write her a poem, and I gladly did so. Just be aware that this was a first; I was never told to write a poem. This was new because I usually write when I'm inspired to do so, or I have this urge to. So, here it is. =)
If darkness was permanent,
I'd still see through it.
As your beautiful soul,
Glares right back,
Banishing the fear tugging at my heart.
How the world would be such a better place,
With a million other clones,
Of you.
But duplicated souls,
Would never be the same,
Like the unique one and only.
How the world would have you stuck in their thoughts,
How they all would wish for you presence,
To shield them from the dark,
To catch them when they fall,
Through the unstable floors.
Beautiful soul,
I admire you strength,
And you personality,
Both chiselled,
To the better,
From the battles,
That have been lost and won.
But now,
You'll be prepared.
Your smile,
Annihilates the misery,
And gives birth to a feeling of euphoria.
Wonderful light,
You never cease to amaze me.
With the patience you hold,
And the wisdom you posses.
Your talent,
For the art of expression,
Swirls within my thoughts.
It sheds through the layers of emotions,
That has accumulated,
Through the terrible moments.
And leaves me,
Smiling.
If darkness was permanent,
I would still see through it.
As your beautiful soul,
Shines through the dark.
What would the world do,
I wonder,
If your glistening spirit wasn't there?
