Well, when he put it like that, how could she refuse. She nodded in agreement, and left his office - a smile on her lips, a skip in her step.

That evening they headed to the Aydin house for dinner. After the initial round of introductions, Sanem sensed that her parents were a a little wary of Can. He wasn't like the men around the mohalle and he wasn't like his brother either. No, Can fell in his own unique category, and they didn't know quite what to make of him.

Sanem excused herself to freshen up, and came down a short while later to the sounds of laughter.

A smile broke out on her face when she saw that Can had broken the ice and was regaling her parents with stories of his adventures abroad. Her mom hadn't even waited for Sanem to join them, she'd already served Can her appetizers, and was positively preening as he oohed and aahed with each bite. He seemed to be genuinely enjoy their company and it warmed her heart.

By the time dinner was done Mevkibe had claimed him as her own. She made him promise to return soon, and he seemed happy to oblige.

"This is the best meal I've had in the longest time, Mevkibe Hanim, of course I'll be back soon", he declared. "But It's getting late, I should head back".

He slung an arm casually around Sanem's shoulder and pulled her towards him. "I'll see you at work tomorrow, canim", he said, the endearment slipping out without hesitation, and Sanem's eyes widened in surprised. She wrapped her arm around his waist awkwardly. Mevkibe beamed in approval and Sanem felt a twinge of guilt about the lie. She dropped her arm and nodded, "Görüsürüz"

The following day, she barely saw him, his door was closed and he seemed buried in the latest campaign. She knocked and walked in, just before heading out at the end of the day.

"Everything ok, Can Bey...Can", she self-corrected.

He looked up at her, a frown line between his eyes. "Yeah, I'm just trying to work through an idea for this new campaign, The company belongs to an old friend of mine, and they sell outdoor gear. We really need to deliver on this one if we want to stay afloat before we can get any new loans. I've been trying to concentrate but the phone has been ringing all day. Damn loan sharks", he said, frustrated.

"Maybe I can help?", she said, feeling bad for him. He had taken on a lot in a very short time.

"I need to get away from the office so I can think in peace. I was going to go camping tonight. Maybe nature will inspire me".

"Ok, I'll leave you alone then", Sanem said, feeling like she was intruding on the quiet time he craved. "I can spend some time tonight thinking about it as well", she offered.

"Or you could come with me?", he blurted out. Where did that come from, he thought to himself. "I mean, if you like camping. The company sells camping gear and such, and you might find some inspiration", he added hastily.
