They met on a snowy January morning. The park was completely deserted, not a single soul stomped upon the white snowy cover. She slowly walked down the pathway, casually looking around and sinking in the surroundings. The park was at its full glory - quiet and empty, just the way she liked it. The crunchy sound under her feet felt satisfying. She laughed lightly resisting running ahead like a child. The crisp cold air blew straight at her face, flushing her pale cheeks. She pulled the hat lower, trying to cover as much forehead as possible and rubbed her cheeks with cold hands. The desired warmth never came, but that didn't upset her. She rushed ahead when she heard a quit meow. She stopped and looked around for the source of noise but there was no one. Thinking it was her imagination she took a couple of steps forward before hearing another meow.

She turned towards the direction of the noise and marched to the tree. Slowly she looked around the tree. A large ginger cat lay in the snow. His body was shuddering, and snowflakes covered him almost completely.

Not wanting to scare him, she gently knelt beside. He looked at her suspiciously and tried to move away. That was when she saw his paw. It didn't look broken but was fur and a lot of the skin was scraped up, showing his inflated flesh.

"It's okay kitty," she whispered soothingly. "I will not hurt you."

His ears perked up at her words.

"Come here baby," she whispered slowly unwrapping the scarf from her neck. "I will help you, just don't run away." her soft voice kind eyes sparked the cat's interest. He sniffed the air, funnily moving his whiskers and turned away, as if trying to say, "if I must".

She gently wrapped the scarf around him. The cat shivered but did not move away. She unzipped her jacket and pressed the animal to her warm body, trying to share as much heat with him as possible. The cat stuck his head out from the opening in her jacket and inhaled deeply as the girl started quickly running out of the park.
