Narako giggled as she played with Izuku and Katsuki. It had been almost a year since her mother's death, and the boys had been doing whatever they could to make Narako happy. Katsuki stood up for her when older kids started bullying her and she couldn't fend them off, and Izuku made sure everyone stayed safe and remained unhurt. But, that particular day...
"Wait up, guys!" Narako struggled to keep up with the four boys ahead of her, who started climbing a really tall tree. Katsuki was easily able to get up to the third from the top branch, Izuku managing it with a struggle.
"Come on, we don't have all day to wait for you, Narako." Katsuki told her as the little female finally reached the tree and started climbing it. But, as one of their friends grabbed one of the branches, it cracked. The boy quickly switched his grip onto a different branch and kept climbing. Narako followed the boy's movements to avoid it, but as she reached up to get to the next branch, the one under her started to break, making her fall a bit and a short scream to leave her mouth. It cracked more under the girl's weight, throwing Narako over it. Narako was able to grab onto it, but the breaking branch was the only branch within her reach.
"Nara-chan!" Izuku cried out worriedly, seeing the panic on his friend's face before looking at Katsuki, who didn't seem to notice anything was wrong until the third scream.
"Help!" Narako screamed, her eyes looking at the ground below her and wide in fear. Katsuki froze in his tracks and looked down to where the scream came from to see Narako looking downward, terrified as the branch broke more, causing her to scream again with her eyes squeezed shut. Katsuki instantly moved to get to her. Just as the branch broke off, Narako screaming as she started to fall, a small explosion from his hands sent Katsuki speeding toward her. Thinking quickly, he grabbed her, wrapping his arm around her waist before grabbing hold of a sturdier branch as they started to passed it. Narako clung to Katsuki, her little face burried in his shoulder and shaking, refusing to look up. It was safe to say that she wasn't gonna be into heights for a while...
"Narako." He spoke sternly, making her look up at him before he nodded toward the branch he was hanging onto. "Get up there first, I won't let you fall again." He told her, his voice a bit softer toned than normal. Narako did as she was told before Katsuki pulled himself up. He sat next to her on the branch before looking at her. "Don't you ever do that again, loser. You scared the heck out of Deku." Aaaaaand, his usual self was back...
"Oh, is that why you saved me? Last I checked, you didn't care if Deku was scared or not." Narako replied, deadpanning. He just scoffed in response.
"Is she okay?" Izuku yelled down to them.
"I'm fine, Izu-chan!" Narako yelled back. He would never admit it, but in truth, Katsuki had been scared to death when he had first seen her hanging off that breaking branch. If he had let her fall, she would have died the moment gravity brought her crashing to the ground. Maybe she could have used her quirk to save herself in time, but with how unpredictable it was, she could have ended up hurting one of them in the process... A risk he knew Narako never would have taken...
The day after the apprehension testing, Class 1-A was still reeling from the day before's events. English with Present Mic, despite the pro hero's massive energy supply, was dead on boring, though Narako did have to admit that the school's cafeteria rocked it's menu like no other school... The food always tasted amazing and it was pretty cheap to get. In the afternoons was the class everyone had been waiting for... Hero Basic Training.
