"Watch it Kitten" he growled when she was less than a foot away. Images of her father flashed through her head. She raised her hand, drew back and swung. He griped her wrist tightly catching it inches from his face.

"You were going to strike me." He chuckled as if it was utterly amusing that she thought she could beat him.

"Well obviously, talking does nothing." She tried to remove her hand without success.

"Apologize." He said roughly, increases his hold on her wrist. His grip was digging into her bones; she knew he could break it with a flick. They stood in the shadows of the hedge. Her anger brewed while he continued to seem amused at her failed attempt to strike him.

"Are you fucking kidding me? You're the one that needs to apologize. You can't just come out of nowhere and suddenly start controlling my life. You can't go around threatening my pack mates because I rejected you. Alpha or not you're being an asshole." She had started the rant pretty much yelling and lowered her voice once she realized where they were. By the time the last word was out of her mouth she was regretting it. You don't attach an alpha. If he sees it as a challenge they would have to fight. Though the image of kicking his ass made her smile but she couldn't deal with any injuries right now.

"Are you done?" He looked down with disappointment, letting her know he was done listening. He left go of her wrist and allowed her to put some distance between them. He studied her for a moment. "You have quite the tempter." He walked around her slowly, stopping once facing her again. Resting his finger under her chin he brought his face close to hers. He was so close she could see every individual spec of silver in his eyes. She could feel the headache building as he tried to link with her.

"It seems everything about you is quite surprising." He let go of her face and leaned back.

"Goodbye." She turned on her heels. She didn't get far when he grabbed her elbow. His head shook slightly as he smiled at her. The look in his eyes made her realize she should have run.

"Not so fast, there is still the topic of punishment." The shock was evident on her face. Her options were limited. She knew she wouldn't get far if she ran, animals enjoyed the chase. Her best option was try and defuse the situation without leading him on. The option she wished she could take was to fight him. Adam was an alpha the chances she'd win very low, she didn't have her own pack and their power to draw upon. He's probably already going to make her assessment even harder.

"You can report the issue to my Luna or Alpha and they will deal with my punishment. You are not my alpha." She kept her voice steady.

"Fortunately, for you I am not but your alpha is not present and I don't see why he needs to find out?" She would take a punishment from Alpha Evan any day before she took whatever twisted punishment he had in mind.

"I will report it to him first thing in the morning."

"The line between anger and passion is very thin. I think you might find yourself enjoying the punishment I had in mind." She couldn't help but follow the path of his tongue as it grazed across his lips.

"No, thank you." She wasn't sure why he let her walk away from him but was glad for the small miracle. Now that the alcohol had worked its way through his system she was appalled by her actions. She should have remained sober, then the whole scene in Luke's bedroom wouldn't have happened.

The leaves of the pine trees tickled her skin as she pulled off her dress. Placing the silk on a branch she removed her matching bra and underwear. She had ruined too much clothing to just shift.

The full moon hung high above her. She stared at it while she felt her bones begin to move beneath her skin. She let out a soft curse when her back bent and forcing her down on her hands and knees. Shifting got easier over the years but it was never truly painless. The pain was forgotten as soon as she shook her black coat.
