Something was wrong in Velaris. No one knows what it is though, not even Rhysand. The sky was darker than usual, and the air colder, almost winter-like.
"Az, have your spies found anything?" Rhys asked.
"Not yet," I said. He sighed. Disappointment gleamed in his eyes. "I'll tell you when I find anything."
"But what could it be? Hybern's dead," Rhys sighed.
"What if-no. Who else would do this?" I stutter. "Tamlin hasn't done anything in six years, and my spies in the spring court said that he hasn't been too suspicious."
"What if it's Beron? Or the new ruler of Hybern?" Asked Rhys.
"Hybern hasn't crowned anyone yet since Brannagh and Dagdan died, there are no heirs left," I explained.
"So no one is occupying Hybern's throne?" Rhys asked.
"No"~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Walking through Velaris is so calming. I don't get headaches from Cassian and Rhys. Everywhere I look I see what Rhys had tried to keep hidden his whole life. This city shows the 'evil' lords true colours, however dark they may be.
I stopped by the herbalist to get some pain medication for Mor and Feyre. This place has been open for many centuries, but recently the owner retired, leaving his apprentice. The apprentice wasn't as swift in her movements as her old boss, but she could find everything quickly. Her short blond hair gleamed in the light, becoming almost golden."Anything else you'd like?" She asked me. Her voice was like a song, a melody.
"Um, something for sore muscles?" I asked.
"Alright, I just need to get some from the back. I'll be right back," she said before disappearing. Why was I thinking like this? Am I alright?
"We're out of stock but if you come tomorrow I'll have more," she said from behind the cloth. She walked back into the main part of the shop.
"Azriel, if I'm correct?" She says
"Yeah, I'm Azriel," I smiled.
"I'll save some for you if you come in the next few days," she beamed. She looked so happy in her job, growing her plants and helping people.
"I'll make sure I don't forget," I said while I put the money on the counter. She counted it and put it in a jar, then smiled.
"Have a nice day," she said. When I walked out the door, I sighed. How could anyone be so perfect?~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Did you get the painkiller?" Mor asked.
"Yeah," I said.
"What about stuff for sore muscles?" Asked Cassian.
"None in stock," I said.
"Alright," he said.
"I heard that the owner retired. Who's taking care of the herbs and plants now?" asked Mor.
"Remember her apprentice?" I said. She nodded. "She owns the shop now."
"Is she nice?" Asked Mor.
"Yeah, she's sweet," I said. "I need to go back tomorrow to get the muscle stuff."~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"I'm here for the stuff for sore muscles," I said.
"Alright, I'll just get it," she said before hurrying off. Her shop was well lit and smelled like flowers. "Here you go," she said with a smile.
"What's your name?" I asked her.
"I'm Dawn."
