"What was that?" Feyre asked.
"What was what?" Asked Cassian.
"Did you not see that?"
A flash of light outside. Not like a normal flash of light, no. Magic.
"Az, go check what's going on," Rhysand told me. I got up and walked to the door.
The air outside was warm like it usually was at this time of year. I looked to one side of the townhouse, then turned my head. Dawn.
She was crying, her face red with anger. It couldn't have been her...right?
"Help!" She screamed through sobs. "I- I got angry at this guy for following me then a light flashed and- and-"
I ran up to her and hugged her. She sobbed into my chest as I held her.
"I- I don't know what I did. do I have magic? Am I normal?" She said why crying. I looked to the side, at the man who was chasing her. Something was off about him. Her tears stopped, he looked up and looked me in the eye.
"Why are you here? Shouldn't you be doing spymaster things?" she whispered. Her voice sounded raw, but she managed to smile. Slightly.
"I had to check what happened...why were you here?" I asked her.
"T-This guy started following me when I was walking past a b-bar and-and-" she said as she started crying again. She was terrified of herself. "I-I used magic."
I nodded.
"M-My mother and father d-didn't have magic. How c-can I have magic?" She stuttered as she started crying.
"Do you want me to walk you home or are you alright to go alone?" I asked her calmly. Something dark appeared in her eyes; sorrow, regret.
"What home? My mother kicked me out."
"What?!" I blurted. How could her mother kick her out? "Uh...do you need a place to stay?"
"Well, i-" she said and sighed. "I planned to sleep on a bench in the park-"
"No way you're doing that. Come with me," I said.
"W-What?" She said, stunned.
"Come with me, you can stay with me."
