Guess what, your Author has been lazy. So this has been sitting in my drafts since before new years. Whoops. Enjoy.

JEREMY'S POV

Michael invited me to his family's new years eve celebration. He does every year, but I never went because I didnt want to leave my dad alone. Since he always falls asleep, I figured I would take Michael up on his offer this year, since we've been officially dating for two months now.

We walk into an ice skating rink at seven thirty to start out the night. I follow him into the building. Theres a big fireplace in the middle of the room with wooden benches and a hot chocolate stand in the far back wall.

I used to go ice skating all the time with my mom and dad when I was a kid, but not for years now. I'd say the last time I went ice skating was about five years ago. It shouldn't be that hard to pick it back up.

Michael turns to me with a small smile rested on his face. I stare at the room with excitement. He grabs my hand and leads me to the skate rental booth.

His two moms buy us all four tickets. After we go up and exchange them for our size of skate. Michael gets a size 11 for his ginormous feet, and I get a size 9.

We go over to put on our skates. I lace mine up really tight to make sure they're secure.

"Ready?" Michael asks, standing up and wobbling on his feet but stabilizing himself soon after.

"Yep!" I say cheerily and walking out with him to the rink.

I pull my hat down below my ears because of the cold. Theres pretty fairy lights strung around the circular rink.

"Cmon let's go." Michael said cheerily taking my hand. We wobbled over and stepped onto the ice.

We glided together, with the wind blowing against us making my fricken pale skin all red. (Author writes from experience)

"So, what's your new years resolution gonna be?" Michael queeried. Shifting his focus from the ground to my face. A soft smile rests on his face as he awaits my answer.

I look up at the deep blue sky to think. The sun is almost completely set, giving the sky a dim light.

"I guess this year I'm just gonna be myself." I decided with a nod.

"Oh... heh, yea that's a good idea." Michael chuckled awkwardly. I shook my head to clear back the memories and get a smile back on my face.

"Anywaaays, haha. Yours?" I ask looking at him.

"To put myself out there more. I've always been more to myself. I'll probably enroll in a club or something at school to do that." He states.

"That's good. It will be great for you Mikey." I grin at him. "Dont we have a video game club or something? You could beat everyone at smash bros." I laugh with a wink.

"They're going down!" He exclaimed jokingly.

"Heck yea." I add. I give him a supportive peck on the cheek. He smiles brightly as we glide onward around the track again.

--- fourty five minutes later ---

"Hey Jere, let's go in and get some hot chocolate." Michael suggests.

"Sure." I agree. We skate out onto the ground and make our way to the big building.

Welcoming heat blows in my face as soon as I take a step in. My face stings from the cold, but it soon goes away when we stand in the short line.
