As I spent more and more time with Elizabeth, Edward made fun of my reactions in private where he allowed me to interact with him as though we are friends. I did not talk about her beauty but rather of Ginny. In a moment of privacy, We spoke of her. In the chaos of battles, I knew how to recognize the moment to bring Ginny up.
It was the moment to calm him. He fights better when he is calm. The Earl of Warwick was constantly riling him up. The first week we were gone, He told Edward and I that he could say that their marriage was fabrication, a lie to seduce. Everything went to shit when he said that.
Edward stood and went crazy. He had been gone for months, missing his wife desperately, and all the Earl had done is talk about her as though she forced the marriage on him. His mind went to Ginny whenever he could.
"That's enough" Edward said in the coldest way ever. I had never heard this voice before.
