I was in a deep sleep when I felt a strong grip on my shoulders shaking me awake.

Before I realized what was happening, I screamed and my eyes shot open.

I saw Ally standing above me with a smile on her face.

"What were you trying to do? Wake me up or give me a heart attack?" I jokingly asked her.

She laughed, "Come on, Julie! It's Halloween! You can't sleep through it! We have a busy day today!"

I sighed, sat up, and rubbed my eyes. I let out a yawn, and then I slowly felt myself start to wake up.

That was when the question I should have asked when I woke up popped in my head, "Wait, how did you get in here?"

She shrugged, "I guess your parents left the door unlocked. I just decided to let myself in. I hope that's alright."

That made sense. My parents probably left early, and they always forget to lock the door in the morning.

I stretched and grabbed my glasses from my nightstand. When I put them on, I saw Ally's eyes widen slightly.

"I didn't realize you wore glasses," she told me sounding surprised.

I shrugged, "It didn't come up yesterday, and I was wearing my contacts."

She nodded, "That makes sense. Do you want me to start unloading your boxes while you change and everything?"

I nodded and yawned again, "That would be great. I'll be next door in the bathroom. If you just want to go through these two boxes and start hanging up my clothes, I would really appreciate it."

She grinned, "Of course!"

I grabbed my cosmetic bag and a t-shirt and sweatpants to change into.

I slowly left my new room and went to the bathroom to change and fix my hair.

I changed into my outfit for the day, and I brushed through my hair leaving it down and stick straight as always. I took off my glasses, and put in my contacts.

When I walked back into my room, Ally was frowning as she was looking through my box of clothes.

"This is worse than I thought," she told me worriedly.

I looked at her obviously confused, "What are you talking about?"

She held up one of the thick turtle neck sweaters I wore all the time, "Please tell me you don't wear this to school..."

I smiled with an awkward laugh, "I wear it all the time. What's wrong with it?"

She sighed and motioned for me to sit down next to her, "I want this year to be better for you. I want you to enjoy being at my school. That's why I'm saying this."

I frowned, "I don't see what's wrong with it."

All of the clothes I bought were simple and plain. It helped me hide in the crowd. It let me blend in. I didn't want to stand out. I didn't like the attention.

"Aw darling, this is cute and all, but if you even want a chance at my school, you have to make a few changes," she told me throwing my clothes into a pile on the floor.

"What kind of changes?" I asked her curiously.

"Don't worry, I have a plan!" She exclaimed grinning.

"What kind of plan?" I asked her raising my eyebrow.

"A plan to un-nerd you," she told me with a smile.
