"seonghwa, come over. we need to talk," eunha sighed.

she hung up before he could say anything. she was finally going to talk to him about it.

she ran downstairs and began to make breakfast for her and seonghwa.

while she was waiting for the pancakes to be ready, she took her phone out and saw her lockscreen. it was her and seonghwa.

eunha didn't want to ruin their relationship but she had no choice.

she was knocked out of her thoughts when she heard a knock on the door.

she took a deep breath and walked to the door.

"seonghwa," she smiled, "come in."

he walked in and joined her at the kitchen counter.

he was about to ask her about why she called him over but she began to talk first.

"seonghwa, i'm so sorry. we can't do this anymore. i like you. i like you way too much. i want us to be more than just friends with benefits," eunha cried, "i didn't think i'd fall for you."

seonghwa didn't know what to say. he didn't want to tell her the truth but he didn't want to hurt her.

"eunha, i'm sorry. i like you. i'm just not able to express my feelings," seonghwa gulped, "i want us to stay friends but it'd be too hard. we can't do this anymore."

eunha didn't know what to do. tears streamed down her cheek as her breath hitched.

"leave. now," she was clearly angry.

"eun, i'm so sorry. let me explain-" seonghwa sobbed, biting his tongue as she stopped him from speaking.

"just get out!" she yelled.

he obeyed her and walked towards the door. he twisted the door knob and whispered one last i love you before opening the door and leaving.

as soon as he left, eunha fell to her knees and broke down. she felt so heartbroken and empty.

she heard someone coming down the stairs and tried to get up but she couldn't.

"eunha, what happened? why are you crying?" san asked, worriedly.

he loved his sister more than anything and seeing her so upset made him concerned.

"seon-" eunha didn't need to finish her sentence. san was out the door and went to look for park seonghwa.

jongho came running down after he heard the door slam shut.

"who slammed the door-" he began, "eun, what's wrong?"

eunha explained everything to jongho in detail. he tries his best to not get angry and, instead, comforted his younger sister.

san came back home with a puffy eyed seonghwa.

"care to explain why eun's crying?" jongho yelled, grabbing seonghwa's collar and pinning him to the door.

seonghwa winced in pain as his back was pressed onto the door handle.

eunha wanted to tell jongho to stop hurting him but she didn't know if she should or not.

"i-it's complicated, you know i c-can't-" seonghwa's words were cut short by jongho's fist that punched him.

"s-seonghwa!" eunha cried, as she saw blood draw from his lip.

she ran to him and just stared at him. he stared back and gulped down the saliva in his throat.

"let us talk alone," eunha softly spoke.

san and jongho hesitated at first but obliged and left the house.

"i'm sorry," seonghwa whispered, tears once again strolling down his face, "i can't be with you."

"park seonghwa," eunha said, inching towards him.

she hesitated at first but raised a hand to his cheek and wiped his tears away. she caressed his cheek softly, not breaking eye contact with him.

"park seonghwa. why?" she mumbled as her lips went to meet his.

he quickly pulled away and looked at her in shock.

"eunha," seonghwa smiled, "let me love you."
