BEING STUCK ON TITAN WITH THE "GUARDIANS" (as they called themselves) was interesting, to say the least. Mantis was enjoying the odd gravity situation as she bounced in the air much to the entertainment of Kaelyn and Peter. Of course, their impending doom was nearing with every second they spent on this planet, but Kaelyn tried not to think about that as she sat with Peter's arm around her.
"Hey," she muttered to get his attention. With a small smile on her face, she lifted her hand with her pinky out, "pinky promise we're gonna get out of this one?"
Without hesitating, Peter wrapped his pinky around hers and kissed her on the cheek. Whispering in her ear he said, "Pinky promise."
In all this utter chaos and destruction, Kaelyn was grateful for one thing and that was always going to be Peter. Throughout everything, the two were together. Even unimaginable things like being stranded on an alien planet. Through thick and thin, she had Peter. Kaelyn liked to imagine what their life would be like without the superhero stuff. If their biggest worries were things like what to get each other for Christmas and when he's going to ask her to the next dance, but that would never be them. It was never meant for them. Kaelyn had a lot of regrets, but Peter wasn't one of them, neither was the life they lived. They might be stuck, but at least they had each other.
"The hell happened to this planet?" Peter Quill asked. The question wasn't quite directed towards anyone as it hung dryly in the air as the group observed their surroundings. "It's eight degrees off its axis. Gravitational pull is all over the place."
"Yeah, we got one advantage. He's coming to us," Tony observed. Kaelyn held in a giggle as she watched Mantis take advantage of the lack of gravitational pull. If this weren't an incredibly serious matter, Kaelyn would otherwise be tempted to join her. "We'll use it. All right, I have a plan! Or at least the beginnings of one. It's pretty simple. We draw him in, pin him down, get what we need. Definitely don't wanna dance with this guy. We just want the gauntlet. Are you yawning?"
Tony had turned to Drax who was yawning quite obnoxiously. Kaelyn held in a gentle laugh as Peter laced their fingers together and pulled him against her. She was afraid of every moment moving forward, but having Peter here was all the comfort she needed. Of course, Kaelyn was her own woman who could get shit done, but even with the weight of her independence on her shoulders she simply needed to be held sometimes. This was, without a doubt, the most dangerous situation Kaelyn had ever been in, hell, she was on another planet. She was not going to be the first to admit it out loud, but she was afraid.
"Are you okay?" Peter whispered in her ear and she wanted to scoff. What a stupid question, but she couldn't blame him for being concerned.
Although, the last thing she wanted was for Peter to be worried about her in all of this, so naturally, she lied, "Of course, I'm okay. Tony has a plan, this'll be a piece of cake."
