My foot steps echoed throughout the street as I made my way to an abandoned warehouse.
I should be safe here.
Placing a carrier case full of dust I had managed to grab as I escaped, I let out a heavy sigh.
Damn those good for nothing animals that call themselves the White Fang, but most of all... curse those little brats led by the kid with the oversized gardening tool!
"How very disappointing Roman!" A menacing voice called out, interrupting my mental rant.
"Woah!" I spun around, identifying the voice as Cinders. "I wasn't expecting to see you guys so soon," I replied, chuckling nervously.
Jees that women can scare you out of your skin just with a glance. Then I spotted her two other accomplices, and had to hold back a grimace. I couldn't stand that punk Mercury and the street rat Emerald!
"We were expecting...more from you," Cinder continued, stealing back my attention.
"Haha hey! You were the one who suggested working with those mutts from the White Fang," I retorted angrily.
"And you will continue to do so. We have big plans for you Roman. All we ask is a little cooperation, " she states, creating a flame in her palm to emphasise the threat.
"Hahaha oooook, I get it I'll cooperate." I agreed nervously, "what do I need to do?"
"You will continue to collect all the dust you can possibly steal till the end of the school break. We will meet up again to discuss your progress."
"What about those little pests that keep on interrupting my plans?"
"We have been spying on them and found out they are travelling to Atlas over the break. They shouldn't give you any troubles," Mercury interjected.
"Atlas?"
"They are all staying at the Schnee residence to train and consolidate how they can work as a team. At least that's was what I heard," Emerald further explained.
"Huh, I guess that does make it easier. Cinder, you have yourself a deal." I stretched out my hand.
"One other thing," Cinder interrupted ignoring my hand, "Upon the day of the meeting you will be appointed a partner of my choosing who will be more than capable to assist you in your part of my master plan."
"WHAT?!" I exclaimed.
"No offence, but your success rate has been a little... how do I say this nicely... underwhelming," states Mercury with a smirk, Emerald unsuccessfully disguising her snickers as a cough.
"I don't know if you have noticed this Cinder, but I'm kinda a lone wolf," I explain, ignoring the other two idiots, "I work alone."
"You don't have a choice," she states with a dangerous glint in eyes, "See you after the holidays... Roman."
With that she turns on her heel and stalks off with the the others, leaving me to mutter curses and oaths.
Who the hell will she pick?!!!
