Always On Our Feet

We woke up the next morning and walked around the house with weapons in our hands. I looked inside while Louis quickly scoped outside.

"Only like 2 outside." He said as he stepped through the door way, closing the door behind him.

I walked up to him and wrapped my arms around his torso while his hands rested on my back.

"Last night was fun..." I admitted upward to his face.

"I know. Let's get our things. Its early so we can spend the whole day looking for your parents."

We gathered all of our things in the bag and any other useful things including a book I wanted to read but never got the chance.

"C'mon. You got everything?" Louis asked.

"Yep. Let's go find my mom and dad." I responded.

"So... what um... do you like about me?" I asked hesitantly to Louis.

He looked down at me and stopped walking. I immediately went red and looked away.

"Clem, what's not to like about you? Everything about you is so perfect Clem, there isnt a single flaw I see in you."

We walked for a little while until we came across a herd if Walkers.

It was in the same town as the hotel my parents might've been at so we hid for a bit until the walkers slowly retreated to a noise they heard.

"What do you like about me?" He asked.

"I love your funny personality. You can always make me laugh or at the least, happy when I'm broken. I love how your determinate with your goals and actually get them done. You are easy to talk to also. My mom hates me and I can like never talk to her and my dad is always on a trip or some bullshit. You actually care about me and protect me from Myles. And your looks only add to it." I explained, "but everything about you is amazing, those were just a few of them." 

Louis got up from th chair he was sitting in and sat in the empty spot next to me on the couch, wrapping his arm around my shoulders and pulling me close to his body.

I slept with my head kn his shoulder and he woke me up a few hours later, saying that it was time to leave.

I stumbled out into the moon sunlight. Louis grabbed the bag and we made our way down to the hotel.

The same herd was there. They must've parted some way because it was smaller but had some of the same walkers.

We did our best to avoid them successfully and we krept into the hotel lobby.

I ran up to the 3rd floor and to the room we always would say that.

I knocked on the door and I heard rustling behind it.

When it opened, it opened with the chain on it. It was a very old hotel so they had chains.

The door was open a hair and a gun was pointed out.

"Who are you?" A voice demanded.

I put up my hands and slowly spoke.

"M-my name is Clementine. I'm just looking for my parents." I stumbled out.

"Ed?" The voice called.

I got excited by the names that this person had asked to the back of the room.

"Theres someone you need to deal with."  Said the voice who stepped away from the door.

"Clementine?" A really farmilliar voice called out.

"Dad!?" I shouted and the chain was taken off the door ending with me in my father's arms.

"Hey sweety! I'm so glad you found us. Hey Louis." He said.

"Hey, I kept her safe, just like you asked." He said and my dad hugged him and thanked him.

"Wheres mom?" I asked.

"She um... shes dead..." he mumbled in a sad voice and tears threatened to spill out of both of our eyes.

Louis' eyes went really wide and his face went pale. He rushed to my side as soon as the horrifying words came out of his mouth.

As soon as a single tear fell, he turned my paused body to face his and he wrapped himself around me.

I however, was unable to comprehend what was happening. My body was almost motionless but the thump of my heart made that false.

I couldnt move anything. I couldnt hug Louis back, I couldnt open my eyes without more tears spilling, and I couldnt make any noises.

Louis just held me tight and whispered lost words into my ear that just went in one and out the other.

"Honey, I'm sorry. I couldnt save her. She told me to..." he stumbled but was cut off by tears that fell down his own cheeks.

My body went numb even more if it was even possible and I was unable to stand now.

"C'mon baby, let's take you inside. We will lay you down." Louis whispered.

He nent down to pick me up bridal style and he followed my father into the room.

I cracked open my eyes and saw a boy I had never met and my little cousin, Aj.

"A..." I mumbled but Louis brought me into the bedroom and played me down on the bed.

As soon as I was situated, Louis rushed to my side and I slowly fell asleep.

I shot up. Louis was gone and ig was dark outside.

I stumbled out of the bed and into the living room where everyone was sitting except Louis.

"Wheres Louis?" I asked sternly, leaning against the doorway.

"He went to do something. He told me to tell you that he would be back tomorrow for you." The new kid said nonchalantly.

"What the hell?! Why would he go alone?! It's dangerous outside now! He could've died by now and nobody stopped him?!" I screamed.

"He forced himself out. We tried Clem but he said he was gonna be fine." My dad chimed in.

"He was there for me dad! I cared about him! How could you! You shouldve woken me up!" I screamed and tried opening the door that lead to the hallway.

My dad stopped me though and yelled.

"Are you crazy?! I lost your mother and I am not going to lose you." He said sternly.

"My BOYFRIEND is in the middle of it! They could easily take him as easily as they took mom!" I yelled back.

"Go lay down. Get more sleep. He will be back in the morning. He took a gun and ripped apart a chair and put nails in jne of the legs. He will return. Go. Get. Sleep... now." He said, still blocking the door.

I ran back the the room and slammed the door.

I flopped on the bed and started to bawl. I didnt know where he was or what he went to do. All I knew is that he is kot safe. Even with a chair leg and a gun...
